Second engagement session upcoming for St. Lorenzo Ruiz Middle School

Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools (RDCRS) says they are looking forward to collaborating with residents in the Kentwood neighbourhood at their second community engagement session for the design process and construction of the neighbourhood’s new middle school (Grade 6 to 9), St. Lorenzo Ruiz Middle School.

The second community engagement session will take place Thursday, May 20 at 5 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this meeting will be held virtually via Zoom.

The first session on April 6 focused primarily on the site layout of the new school. A presentation from that session can be viewed at www.stlorenzoschool.ca.

To date, geotechnical testing has been completed and the results were used in optimizing the site layout, says Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools. A traffic assessment will be completed in the coming weeks as part of the development permit process. Construction is expected to start in the Fall of 2021, with the school opening in September 2023.
