Apr 13, 2021 | 9:03 PM

The Alberta Utilities Commission’s public hearing into the Central East Transfer-Out Project starts tomorrow (Thursday, April 14) at 9 a.m.

The hearing will be entirely virtual, so residents are able to listen live here.

AltaLink’s portion of the proposed Central East Transfer-Out Project is in the counties of Red Deer, Lacombe, and Stettler. If approved, the project includes:

• Approximately 55-60 kilometres of new 240 kilovolt (kV) transmission line connecting the Gaetz Substation, located east of the City of Red Deer, to a new ATCO Electric transmission line, located southeast of the Village of Alix

• Installing new equipment at the Gaetz Substation.

The hearing provides stakeholders with the opportunity to ask questions about the project application and to present evidence to the Alberta Utilities Commission.

For more detailed information about the project, you can find all of our project materials on the AltaLink website here.
