Drayton Valley RCMP Report: February 18 – February 24

February 18

12:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave/51 St – Complainant reported minor collision that occurred February 17 at location.

1:05 pm – Drayton Valley – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported a collision that occurred February 8; one vehicle slid into another on icy roadway.

3:04 pm – Parkland County – Complainant attended to report ongoing issues with ex. Under investigation.

7:49 pm – Brazeau County – RR 75 – Complainant reported his 2020 grey Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, Alberta plate BYN2578, stolen from his driveway. Truck had been mistakenly left running, truck last seen headed south on RR 75.

February 19

4:00 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Ave – Complainant reported a water main break. Member confirmed issue and notified public works who were already aware of the issue.

7:19 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd – Anonymous complainant reported a grey Dodge Charger parked behind a building with no plate attached. Member attended and located the vehicle, which promptly left the area after failing to stop for police. No pursuit initiated, police are aware of the vehicle and driver. Further charges pending.

11:20 am – Brazeau County – RR 100 – Report of a collision between a vehicle and a fallen tree.

11:42 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Dispute between tenants, determined to be a non-criminal matter.

2:02 pm – Parkland County – Tomahawk – Theft of fuel from a yard within the past 2 days. Police are waiting for surveillance from the area.

2:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Abandoned vehicle on private property. Police contacted the owner and advised them to have the vehicle removed.

2:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Hit and run from IGA parking lot. The suspect vehicle was located by police, investigation ongoing.

3:59 pm – Brazeau County – Report of an abandoned vehicle. Police attended and located the Dodge Ram reported stolen on February 18. The vehicle was seized for further investigation.

5:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Avenue – Police were called to assist with keeping the peace while the Community Peace Officer dealt with an issue.

7:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complaint of a suspicious person going through a dumpster.

February 20

7:25 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Theft from 2 vehicles in a parking lot overnight. iPad and work boots stolen from one vehicle and a brand new Husqvarna chainsaw stolen from another.

10:51 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Report of a male lurking around the store. Police attended, the male was not found in the area.

12:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street & 54 Avenue – Police responded to a collision at an intersection. The driver of one of the vehicles was determined to be impaired and was issued a 7-day vehicle seizure, a 90-day license suspension, and a $1000 fine.

1:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Request for removal of an unwanted customer. Members attended when able, the person was no longer there.

3:39 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 759 – Sea can stolen over the past 2 days. The sea can was empty, no surveillance in the area.

5:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Report of damage to a door at an apartment. The suspect was located and arrested on outstanding warrants out of the Edmonton Police Service. Investigation ongoing for the mischief.

7:47 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Request for a wellbeing check at a property. Police attended, no concerns noted.

9:11 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Suspicious vehicle in the parking lot, possibly related to thefts the night before. Police patrolled the area, the vehicle was not there.

9:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Police called to a mental health complaint. The person was located and transported to the hospital.

11:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle and a passenger was in medical distress. Police transported the passenger to the hospital for treatment.

February 21

12:12 am – Drayton Valley – 54A Avenue – Police were called to assist EMS with a medical call where a weapon may be present. Police insured the area was safe and EMS dealt with the patient.

1:49 am – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Report of aggressive person at the hospital, not a patient. Police attended, the person was already gone.

2:06 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complaint of theft of keys. Police attended, the complainant then refused to provide additional information or cooperate with further investigation.

11:09 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Suspicious vehicle that matches the description of a vehicle used in thefts. Patrols made and vehicle later located on Hwy 22 near Twp 512. No offences identified, vehicle and occupants are already known to police.

11:18 am – Drayton Valley – Lost wallet in the past 2-3 days. Wallet is a long black leather Wrangler wallet with ID and bank cards. Unknown where exactly it was lost.

3:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of an impaired driver. Local members along with Capital West Traffic Unit patrolled the area, but the vehicle was not located.

6:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Police were called to conduct a wellbeing check. Members attended, no issues.

7:36 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Suspicious vehicle, possibly casing properties. Police attended, the vehicle was not located.

9:56 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 624 – Police were called to assist EMS with a person who may be aggressive. Police attended, there was no issue and the person went with EMS without any problems.

10:56 pm – Brazeau County – Twp 494 – Complaint of noises heard outside, believes someone is on their property. Police attended quickly as they were already nearby, no footprints or signs of anyone around.

February 22

4:18 am – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Report of possible drug activity in the area.

9:23 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. White ¾ ton truck very dirty with logo on door pulled into complainant’s driveway, then backed into their garbage can, then backed up their driveway slipping on ice. Vehicle then drove into neighbour’s yard then took off towards the highway.

9:29 AM – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of garbage can.

2:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Complainant reporting issues during custody exchange the previous day. Male threatened complainant with violence.

5:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Alarm received. Members attended residence and spoke with occupant, who advised that they had accidentally set off alarm while working with sump pump.

6:18 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Complainant reporting a hit and run. Neighbour had observed a red truck was driving too fast and slid across the complainant’s front yard and hit Jeep in the driveway.

7:39 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting female is yelling and breaking windows. Member attended and located female. All windows have been broken. Female arrested and held until sober.

8:11 pm – Brazeau County – Ongoing issue with female. Complains constantly of someone breaking into residence and hearing voices. Members attended, female transported to safe location.

February 23

8:58 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting they were driving on Hwy 22 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.

2:35 pm – Drayton Valley – Report received of mischief at trailer. RCMP well aware of the incident.

3:15 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated driver. Vehicle is a red work truck with equipment in the back. Vehicle all over the road.

4:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting mischief. Town CPO on scene. Charges pending.

4:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Complainant reporting a dispute. Lots of shouting. Members attended and located female who advised son had slept in and was late for work.

5:01 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Complainant reporting dirt bikes are eastbound at a high rate of speed. Member patrolled the area, dirt bikes not located.

6:01 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting suspicious male. Member attended and located male who was subsequently arrested on outstanding warrants.

February 24

12:57 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting person trespassing at the landfill. Member attended and located known male who had started a fire to keep warm. Male escorted from landfill.

5:54 am – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting an attempted break and enter to liquor store. Front door shattered, suspects in a two-tone truck towards Seba Beach.

8:53 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant calling to report they provided their SIN number to a text message they thought was from the CRA.

9:09 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting daughter missing. Daughter had not attended school either. As complainant was providing information, text received from daughter stating they were home.

9:18 am – Parkland County – Complainant reporting an attempted break and enter from lease site. Culprits stole 3 feet of copper cable. Unknown when this occurred.

10:03 am – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting break and enter to shed at school. Leaf blower and jerry can of gas stolen.

7:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting damage to vehicle while parked at Woodhaven apartments. Driver’s side window damaged and interior of vehicle rummaged through.

9:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Commercial alarm received. Members attended, no sign of forced entry. Keyholder reset alarm.

10:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a package was dropped off at 7-11. Female dropped off their purse for safekeeping as they did not wish to lose it. Female now wants it back and they are refusing to give it back. Members attended and retrieved the purse and returned it to female.

11:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a dispute. Members attended, no parties located. Located male later on, advised they got into a fight outside OCT.
