Arrest made after December stabbing in Drumheller

Drumheller RCMP are investigating a stabbing which took place last month.

Mounties responded to a complaint about 2:40 p.m. on Dec. 17 at a home in the 700 Block of 1 Street SW in Drumheller

The victim, an adult male, was found in the residence and told police he had been stabbed in several places on his body by an adult female known to him.

The victim claimed he had been sleeping when the suspect entered the home and, allegedly unprovoked, repeatedly stabbed him.

STARS was unable to attend due to weather conditions, so the victim was taken by EMS to Calgary in life-threatening condition.

Lyndsey Bendfeld, 37, of Drumheller, was located and arrested without incident at a nearby business. She is charged with aggravated assault and fail to comply with a release order.

Bendfeld remains in custody and will appear in Drumheller Provincial Court on Feb. 12.
