Innisfail RCMP preparing for 25th Charity Checkstop

It’s that time of year again. The Christmas season is soon approaching and the Innisfail RCMP are in the process of setting up this year’s Charity Checkstop.

The checkstop on Saturday, Dec. 12 will look a little different this year with fewer volunteers involved for social distancing and safety purposes.

The location of this year’s Charity Checkstop will be the same as previous years. RCMP members, some select volunteers, as well as lots of flashing red and blue lights will be set up on 50 Street between 48 and 49 Avenue.

Donations will be accepted from traffic that is both eastbound and westbound. Vehicles not wishing to donate may proceed through without any difficulty.

Safety Bear is also excited to meet everyone again this year.

This year’s Charity Checkstop will once again be accepting new clothing, food, new toys, and cash in support of the Innisfail Food Bank, Innisfail Christmas Bureau, the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre, and the Innisfail Youth Positive Assets Coalition.
