Festival of Trees needs over 2,000 volunteers

Sep 30, 2020 | 2:44 PM

Though it is taking on a different form this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers with the Festival of Trees in Red Deer say they still need a winter army of volunteers to help make their event a success.

They are seeking volunteers to fulfill numerous roles from November 12-30, 2020.

Festival of Trees is moving to Bower Place Shopping Centre for this year (in the former Sears location) and will be open to the public for 15 days. This event will feature Raffle Alley, silent auctions, Gift and Sweet Shops and Candy Cane Lane. Volunteers are also needed for decorating, gate admission, volunteer resources, accounting, food services, drivers, and setup/tear down.

“Volunteers play an integral role in the success of Festival of Trees,” officials with the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation say in a release. “Whether you want to volunteer behind the scenes to bring Festival to life during setup, or you want to be involved in the heart of the action during public hours, there is a role for everyone.”
