Rocky RCMP Report: September 24-28

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of September 24-28

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

September 24

1:13 A.M. – Report of a quad driving around Rocky Mountain House without headlights. It was not located.

3:17 A.M. – Call of a suspicious vehicle on fire in a farmer’s field just north of Caroline. The investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from the Drayton Valley area.

5:51 A.M. – Attempted theft of a Ford Superduty at a residence in Caroline. The ignition and wiring was damaged.

8:44 A.M. – Report of a theft of a stolen 2005 Pontiac Montana minivan stolen from a residence in Caroline. It was found abandoned in Airdrie, later that afternoon.

9:35 A.M. – Attempted theft of a Chevy pickup overnight. The culprit(s) damaged the ignition and stole the battery.

1:41 P.M. – Report of an assault on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve. Under investigation.

2:52 P.M. – Theft of a propane bottle from the back deck of a Rocky Mountain House residence overnight.

3:15 P.M. – Report of an assault with a weapon on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve. Police attended and arrested an adult male. Charges are pending.

7:22 P.M. – 2017 grey Ford F150 pickup truck reported stolen from Swan Lake road, west of Caroline after the owner had gone quading in the area.

September 25

2:25 A.M. – Stolen licence plate found on a parked vehicle in alley behind a RMH residence. Under investigation.

8:43 A.M. – 2004 red Honda CRF150 dirtbike stolen from an enclosed trailer while parked at Rocky Mountain House residence.

1:31 P.M. – Report of an assault which occurred on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve.

3:55 P.M. – White powder, believed to be illicit drugs, found in bathroom of Rocky Mountain House public facility.

4:05 P.M. – Call of a suspicious, possibly stolen, pickup truck & RV trailer spotted in the Cow Lake area.

11:39 P.M. – Call of a group of people yelling and swearing at a residence in Rocky Mountain House. Police attended and warned the intoxicated individuals who were having a campfire in their back yard.

September 26

6:20 P.M. – Complaint of wild horses on the road near Nordegg.

9:25 P.M. – B&E reported after a male was spotted, breaking a window at a residence in Rocky Mountain House. Police attended and arrested the suspect who lived nearby. Charges pending.

September 27

1:38 A.M. – Abandoned vehicle reported by the market on O’Chiese First Nation. It appeared that someone had attempted to light it on fire. Police attended and had it towed. It was reported stolen a few hours later.

3:40 P.M. – A black 2008 FORD F350 was stolen along with a black 2008 CANAM 800 ATV, from the Forestry Trunk road while the owner was fishing.

3:40 P.M. – Shoplifter reported at a Rocky Mountain House grocery store as a suspect was seen walking around the store and using his backpack instead of a grocery cart. He was last seen walking up the street.

September 28

9:01 A.M. – B&E reported to office at a landfill site, west of Rocky Mountain House in Clearwater County, over the weekend. The culprit(s) cut through the fence and broke into the scale house where they had stolen an old hand held scanner.

10:45 P.M. – Report of cows on Highway 11 by Wall Street, Clearwater County.
