Automated traffic enforcement locations announced for October

Red Deer RCMP have announced the planned photo radar locations for the month of October.

Mobile units are anticipated to be operating in the neighbourhoods of Oriole Park, Johnstone, Kentwood, West Park, Grandview, Mountview, Sunnybrook, South Hill, Deer Park, Rosedale, Eastview, Clearview, Timberlands, Burnt Park Industrial, and Edgar Industrial.

Mobile units will also be operating along the traffic corridors of Gaetz Avenue, Taylor Drive, 19 Street, 30 Avenue, 40 Avenue, Ross Street, Riverside Drive, 67 Street, Highway 2A, and Highway 11A.

Intersection Safety Device Cameras are planned to be in operation at Gaetz Avenue and 32 Street, 32 Street and 30 Avenue, Taylor Drive and 32 Street, and Gaetz Avenue and 59 Street.

The City of Red Deer’s Automated Traffic Enforcement Program includes photo laser, red light cameras and intersection speed cameras.

RCMP say in a release that Automated Traffic Enforcement will be operating in areas where: speeding has been identified as a community concern; there has been an identifiable, documented history of collisions; a high volume of pedestrians; and areas where conventional enforcement is ineffective or unsafe.
