Drayton Valley RCMP report: September 10 – September 17

September 10

8:38 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Report of an unknown male yelling at the complainant who is working at the location. Patrols made, the male had already left.

8:51 am – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complaint of a female staggering on the road. Members attended and arrested the female on outstanding warrants out of Rocky Mountain House. The female was released shortly to attend court at a later date.

9:05 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Report of a physical altercation, police attended, dispute between family members, no charges wanted, parties separated.

11:13 am – Parkland County – Twp 510 – Single vehicle rollover, police attended along with Parkland Fire and EMS. The lone occupant was not injured.

12:24 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complaint of a female doing drugs behind a storage shed. Police attended and arrested the female. Baggies containing what is believed to be meth and fentanyl were located on her person. The female was held until sober and released for court. Charges are pending for possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

3:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Collision between a delivery driver and a garage door. Non-reportable collision, complainant required a file number for insurance.

4:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of an audible alarm from a residence. Members attended, the door had been damaged earlier in the week and won’t close properly.

4:35 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Suspicious/unwanted person in the store just standing in an isle for 30 minutes not doing anything. Members attended, the SOC was asked to leave and did so without incident.

5:06 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Report of a vehicle matching the vehicle associated to the shooting Tuesday was seen in the area. Police attended but could not locate the vehicle.

5:26 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Report of a holiday trailer being broken into sometime between Aug 17 and Sept 10. Several items stolen including a Honda 3000 Generator, a Stanley socket set, and a Dewalt impact drill.

6:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Complaint of slander on Facebook. Police advised that slander is a civil matter and not criminal and suggested the complainant report it to Facebook.

8:01 pm – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer Court – Report of a vehicle matching the vehicle associated to the shooting Tuesday was seen in the area. Police attended and confirmed it was not related.

8:40 pm – Brazeau County – A complaint of an assault was made to Leduc RCMP that occurred near Cynthia last weekend.

September 11

2:15 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Noise complaint. Police attended, subjects of complaint were leaving as police arrived, admitted to playing loud music, and apologized.

8:08 am – Drayton Valley – Madsen Ave – Threats over text. Spoke with both parties and warned the suspect, no charges warranted.

8:29 am – Brazeau County – Possible scam call received. Members tried calling the number, stated they were giving away “free” life alert systems. Unable to determine the validity of the offer as the member calling was not over the age of 55.

8:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 911 call received regarding someone having 2 cannabis plants in their yard. The caller was advised that cannabis is legal and this is not an offence.

8:34 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Abandoned vehicle on a property. Members attended, the vehicle was not reported stolen; however, it had a stolen license plate attached which was recovered.

10:20 am – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Truck vs a deer collision, no injuries.

10:52 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Unwanted person sleeping on the grass of the business. Members attended, the male was arrested for outstanding warrants and released roadside with a new court date. He left the area without further issue.

6:16 PM – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a missing male. Members spoke with several people who had seen male. Not missing.

8:12 pm – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. 2 vehicles have their headlights pointed at their residence. Members attended, neighbours visiting with each other. Not suspicious.

9:21 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a vehicle with the hatch open is driving in an erratic manner. Vehicle is a black Yukon type vehicle. Driver passed them while on the bridge.

10:37 pm – Drayton Valley – Skate Park – Complainant reporting lone male driving a white Chevrolet 2500 almost ran them over. Member attended the area and patrols were made, vehicle not located.

September 12

2:29 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting a disturbance. Banging coming from the residence across the street. Lots of yelling. Members attended and located male and female who were intoxicated. They advised they got into an argument. Nothing physical.

5:02 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant noticed a vehicle hit the ditch travelling north on Hwy 22. The vehicle also struck a white pylon on the side of the road. Concerned about the well being of the driver. Drayton Valley RCMP responded to the area but could not locate the suspect vehicle.

9:49 am – Drayton Valley – A person was walking their dog near the skate park when two large dogs attacked his dog. The dogs had no owner in the area. There were no injuries to him or the dog. Patrols were made for the loose dogs but they were not located.

10:50 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting several tools taken from work truck. Male on bicycle crawled under the gate and stole various air tools.

12:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued several violation tickets. Excessive noise. A warning was issued for stunting.

6:11 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a possible impaired driver in an older white Chevrolet truck. No rear window. Vehicle located and followed. No erratic behaviour noted. Member conducted a traffic stop. Driver sober but admitted to dialing a number on their phone. Driver warned about distracted driving.

8:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Shoplifting. Male left the grocery story with something from the freezer. The male was described as a white male, 6’1, slim build, goatee, blue hoodie. Police attended but the suspect was not located. The incident is still under investigation.

September 13

1:27 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Complainant reporting loud party. Member attended, they had already quietened down prior to arrival.

1:41 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious male sleeping in a red single cab truck. Large dog in vehicle. Members attended and spoke with occupant of vehicle. They were waiting for a friend and having a rest while waiting.

2:08 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reporting vehicle on fire. Members attended with fire department. Matter is still under investigation.

3:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a shoplifter. Male is trying to leave with a bag of groceries. Members attended and obtained a description of male. Known male located at Econorest with stolen milk, doughnuts, and Reece Pieces. Milk and Reece’s were returned to store. Male issued a trespassing notice by store.

3:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting they are receiving harassing messages over Facebook and text. Members attended. Messages reviewed. Advised to block the individual.

7:35 pm – Brazeau County – Landfill – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Red car is backing into the bush. Member attended and located vehicle that appeared to have been dumped. Member attended, vehicle was abandoned. Vehicle towed.

9:18 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting they received a suspicious phone call. Caller sounded like a small child who was looking for their mother. Members followed up with the phone number. No issues.

11:17 pm – Drayton Valley – MacKenzie Avenue – Complainant reporting loud party going on since this afternoon. Members attended and requested they turn down the music.

September 14

1:30 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting known person stole their silver/purple BMX bike.

10:27 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant requesting assistance with keeping the peace as they remove items from apartment. No issues.

10:47 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting a missing person. 12 year old left the school. While out looking for boy, boy was located and brought to the detachment by mom. All good, youth was upset.

12:50 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 and Hwy 39 – Complainant reporting a hit and run to their 2013 black Kia Rio. They were stopped behind a travel trailer waiting to turn west when the trailer rolled back causing damage to the front of their vehicle.

3:14 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. Members attended location and spoke with both parties.

5:14 pm – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant reporting person failing to comply with an Emergency Protection Order. Member contacted both parties. No breach of conditions occurred.

6:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting they sold their truck to male who did not have their own plate. Complainant allowed male to use plate to drive back to Grande Prairie. En route, male got a speeding ticket. Now complainant wanted to report plate stolen. Advised to contact person they sold vehicle to as plate is not stolen.

September 15

7:46 am – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd. – Complainant reporting theft of copper wire overnight from construction site. Approximately $800 worth stolen.

8:23 am – Tomahawk area – Complainant reporting a suspicious red Sunfire with no plate. Vehicle is running on the side of the road with a male inside. Members attended, vehicle had been stolen. Driver arrested and charged for possession of stolen property as well as numerous outstanding warrants. Male held for a bail hearing and remanded.

8:43 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting they received an update on their stolen laptop. Member attended the residence where the laptop is supposed to be at, no one answered the door and there was no noise inside. Matter is still under investigation.

9:37 am – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reporting suspicious vehicles parked on the street with no plates. One is a burgundy truck, the other is a black car. Have been parked on the street for over a month.

9:45 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reporting a homeless male is walking in front of traffic. Person is pushing two bikes. Description matches that of a known male. Members attended and located male who advised he was fine and had found a bike at the dump.

11:33 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting they received a phone call advising them they were going to come to the store and rob them. Member called the number that the call had come from and spoke with the individual who was having some mental health issues. Parents were contacted.

1:23 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting squatters on the land. Member passed on information to County CPO`s.

6:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Complainant reporting an unwanted male on the path through the trailer park. Male keeps showing up and wanting money. Member attended and spoke with complainant who knew male. Complainant had told male to move on and he did.

9:34 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reporting a suspicious male is in a storage unit with the door up. Male is going through the contents of the container. Member attended and located known male who advised they had a key for the unit. As there is no public access after 9:00 pm, male is trespassing. Male arrested and taken to cells and released when sober with trespass ticket.

10:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting an impaired driver in a white Chevrolet truck. Driver is stopping in the middle of the road and swerving between lanes. Members patrolled the area, vehicle not located.

10:41 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting excessive noise. 3 – 4 people are sitting in their vehicle blasting their music. Complainant called back to advise the vehicle had left prior to member arrival.

September 16

4:03 am – Drayton Valley – 20 Avenue – Member conducted a traffic stop with a grey Chevrolet Tahoe. Person driving vehicle is suspended and had warrants out of Breton. Other occupants were breaching court orders. Family member attended to get vehicle.

8:40 am – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 494 – Complainant reporting they were walking by Eagle Point Park and found a new fuel pump in a sealed bag. Fuel pump had been stolen.

9:03 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious male in a vehicle is stopping at backyards in the alleyway. Vehicle is a brown late model car. Members patrolled the area and located the vehicle with a male beside. Male denied looking into yards.

10:14 am – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting their 2014 brown Ford F-150 was hit while parked in the parking lot. Damage to the passenger side.

1:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting a dispute over smoking. Complainant has lung issues and would like their renter to stop smoking in the residence. Would like police to tell renter to stop smoking. Advised this was a civil matter.

5:20 pm – Drayton Valley – Several reports received of a known female in and out of traffic. Member attended female had left area. Female located later on in the evening and was subsequently arrested and held until sober.

September 17

2:38 am – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 – Members were called to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident on Hwy 22, just south of 50 Avenue. Half-ton truck swerved into the other lane and was hit by a northbound semi-truck. Two males deceased.

4:37 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a male is having some mental health issues. Members attended and escorted male to the hospital.

6:07 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a suspicious male on a quad. Members were unable to attend as they were all tied up at motor vehicle accident.

7:43 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant calling to obtain assistance with getting their truck back from ex. Matter is a civil matter. Complainant advised.
