One man is facing charges after Olds RCMP received a report of a weekend break and enter at a business located on Imperial Way in the town of Olds.

On Aug. 24, stolen items included welding equipment and several tools. Video surveillance assisted police in identifying the suspect who was arrested in Olds on Monday afternoon.

The stolen property, valued at approximately $7,000.00, was recovered at a residence in Olds.

Shannon Roy Hillman, 38, of Olds has been charged with break and enter to a business, theft over $5000, and possession of stolen property over $5000.

Mounties say Hillman was also arrested on 15 outstanding arrest warrants for offences related to domestic violence, theft, failing to attend court and failing to abide by court imposed release conditions.

One of the warrants executed was said to be in relation to Hillman’s placement of a homemade explosive device outside an Olds business last October.

Hillman has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on Aug. 27 in Airdrie Provincial Court.

Olds RCMP is asking anyone with information related to the break and enter to contact the Olds RCMP at 403-556-3323 or your local police service.
