Drayton Valley RCMP report: August 13 – August 20

August 13

03:39 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a break and enter to a business. Police attended and found the back door was smashed. Members cleared the business but no one was found. Nothing was taken from the business and police have no further leads.

05:07 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Avenue – Report of a break and enter into a business. Police attended and found the back door had been smashed open. Nothing taken from the business. Members canvassed the area for video and other evidence. Police do not have any suspects. At this time unable to link the previous break and enter.

10:00 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Theft of property – Police responded to a theft of a 100 ft garden hose from the back yard of the residence. Occurred overnight. The suspects cut the hose and took the entire reel holder out the side gate. Area canvassed for video. No suspects identified.

1:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Trespassing – Police were called to a male who was walking through a business in an industrial area. The male was well known to Drayton Valley RCMP. Members spoke with the male on scene and told him to leave the area.

2:01 pm – Brazeau County – Break and Enter – Members responded to a break and enter near 494 Twp Rd. Back door was kicked in. No one was home at the time. RCMP forensic unit was called out to the scene. The file is still under investigation.

10:00 pm – Drayton Valley – Traffic Offence – Traffic stop was conducted in the area of Industrial Rd in Drayton Valley. Driver provided a breath sample which was a “warn” meaning the driver had between 50 mg of alcohol in their blood to 100 mg. The legal limit is 80 mg. RCMP would like to remind drivers that a “warn” in Alberta will result in a 3-day suspension of your driver’s licence and a vehicle impoundment.

11:51 pm – Drayton Valley – Assault – Police responded to an assault near Greenwood Trailer Court. When police arrived the suspect had fled. There were no serious injuries and no further danger to the public. The file is still under investigation and charges are pending.

August 14

12:14 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting their daughter left the residence and stated they were going to a friends. Members patrolled the area, female not located. Complainant called back at 3:18 am to advise daughter came home.

4:17 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Police responded to a call for a disturbance in an apartment building. When police arrived they located the subject of complaint. The person was familiar to police and is known for being eccentric. Members were able to calm the person down and they agreed to be quiet for the remainder of the day.

9:37 am – Drayton Valley – Western Trailer Court – Drayton Valley RCMP responded to a shed being broken into sometime overnight. Through police investigation, significant evidence was seized to identify the suspect. The investigation is still ongoing and police are confident charges will be laid.

11:01 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting an erratic driver on a “crotch rocket”. Driver speeding through town. Member patrolled area, motorcycle not located.

11:16 am – Complainant reported that while camping at Banff National Park they had a minor altercation with some other campers. Vandalism occurred to their Diesel truck in the form of contaminants being put into the fuel tank.

2:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant advised that they located several stripped bike frames on the lease road off 50 Street.

8:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting known male is causing a disturbance. Male is intoxicated. Members attended, male removed from residence.

9:28 pm – Drayton Valley – Threatening call received in which the caller advised the complainant that they were coming to kidnap them. No substance to call, caller is presently in rehab.

August 15

1:21 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting 2 males on a red bike with a trailer is at a nearby location loading stuff from residence who is away on holidays. Members attended and located known male. Items in trailer were items found at dump. Male arrested on outstanding warrant.

4:16 am – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a ticket for driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

1:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting individuals are stripping wire. Member attended and spoke with the person who advised they were assisting a neighbour strip electrical wire.

2:07 pm – Brazeau County – Request for members to assist EMS. Complainant had been thrown from their horse while riding. Members attended to assist.

2:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting theft of Visa gift card. Believes family member took it. Member attended and spoke with all parties.

2:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Pleasantview trailer court – Complainant reporting threats received over Facebook. Member reviewed the Facebook threads provided, do not constitute threats.

4:37 PM – Drayton Valley – 47A Avenue – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated driver in a black Dodge Ram. Member located vehicle, ASD demand resulted in a 0 reading. Not impaired.

5:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol located a Guess handbag that appeared to have been dropped. Bag was seized.

8:10 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a Grizzly Bear in the yard. Fish and wildlife officers advised.

9:08 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Complainant reporting male is stalking them. Complainant is suffering from paranoia.

10:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting an intoxicated driver in a dark blue Mazda. Vehicle driving erratically. Members patrolled the area but vehicle not located.

10:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a Red Ford F-150 is stunting. Complainant confronted driver and both ended up at the detachment. Driver of Truck was issued a warning for their driving behaviour.

August 16

12:31 am – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – EMS requesting assistance for male and female in black Ford Escape. Member attended, male and female were fine, just sleeping in the vehicle.

12:33 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting an aggressive female walking up and down the alley yelling and swearing and being destructive. There was a male with the female, however, they had left. Members patrolled the area, subjects not located.

2:06 am – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Complainant reporting someone yelling and the smashing of a bottle. Members attended, the subject of complaint had left the bar in a cab.

7:06 am – Drayton Valley – Members were requested to locate male who was suffering from paranoia. Members located male in Drayton Valley. Male taken to hospital.

1:41 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – 911 hangup. Female called 911 asking for police. Members were able to locate where the call originated from. Upon arrival, the female was belligerent and uncooperative.

2:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant advised that they were trying to move out and the landlord is not allowing to get their belongings. Member attended, no eviction notice, complainant just moving out. Advised the landlord that if there are outstanding monies owed, they must go through civil court.

3:28 pm – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol came across an accident that had just occurred. One of the vehicles had run a red light. EMS and Fire dispatched.

9:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of money. Complainant reported that they had wanted to purchase some clothes and the male took off with their money. A female who was also present took off on a bike.

10:06 pm – Brazeau County – RR 61 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver after a family dispute. Driver is in a tan older style Dodge. Members located male and complainant who advised that they had lent money and wanted it back. Both parties warned.

11:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an intoxicated female is yelling by the church. Members attended and located known female who advised that they were just talking loudly. Advised to keep their voice down.

August 17

3:43 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting male passed out with bike left next to them. Members attended and located male who was just sitting outside the store. Member asked male to leave and they did so without issue.

8:29 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting their shed broken into sometime this morning. Door hinges had been removed. Another individual advised that they observed some items under a nearby trailer. Members attended and retrieved several items. Complainant identified the items as theirs. Matter is still under investigation.

8:41 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reporting shed behind Century 21 was broken into.

8:47 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant attended the detachment with a red bike with no seat. Bike had been found behind Lavender Lane in the alley.

9:09 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting homeless people coming from the garage of the Old Bank of Commerce building. Female with longer dark hair riding a BMX bike with a backpack. Male is wearing grey hoodie and blue jeans with a backpack. Member conducted patrols in the area, no one matching the description. Member checked the garage, doors locked.

11:38 am – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Complainant reporting 2 suspicious persons hanging around 50 Avenue. Member attended and located 2 known persons who had strewn their items over the lawn. Member requested they clean it up and move on which they did.

11:46 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a person driving with no insurance or registration. Person is driving a black Dodge.

1:15 pm – Violet Grove – Bylaw officer requests assistance with an animal control issue. Member attended and assisted with the matter.

1:36 pm – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting theft from vehicle. Wallet was stolen from their white 2000 Chevrolet Suburban while parked in the parking lot. Cards cancelled.

2:40 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 753 – Complainant reporting they were driving on HWY 753 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their 2015 Chevrolet Suburban causing damage to the front end and passenger corner.

3:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Avenue – Complainant reporting persons camping in the trees behind MacKenzie Avenue. A lot of foot traffic at all hours, mostly late at night and early morning.

4:17 pm – Drayton Valley – RV Park and Campground – CPO requesting assistance with tow of trailer from trailer park. Trailer has been there for the past two months and is behind on rent.

5:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Park Valley Swimming Pool – Complainant reporting their silver 2011 Dodge Durango stolen while parked in the parking lot. Vehicle keys, wallet, and phone were stolen from their locker.

8:47 pm – Drayton Valley – Lakeview Inn – Complainant reporting possible stolen items. Suspicious male observed walking on trail that leads to the lake with an overturned wagon with propane bottles, bbq and other items. Member attended and spoke with male who advised they had been kicked out of the residence they were living in.

9:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Complainant reporting threats received via text. Member attended residence. Texts are being sent by ex.

11:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting people doing drugs in parking lot. Member attended, persons had left prior to arrival.

August 18

8:37 am – Brazeau County – Nordic Ski Trail – Complainant reporting an abandoned Dodge Durango. Member attended, vehicle reported stolen the previous day from the Pool.

10:31 am – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Complainant reporting a white Ford F-150 is parked in the driveway of their rental home. It has been there for the past day and a half. Members attended, vehicle belongs to a person doing construction in the area. Owner had been asked to move the vehicle the previous day.

2:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Female caller called 911 and stated they needed police then hung up. Members attended area, neighbourhood enquiries conducted. Caller not located.

2:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting male hasn’t been paying rent at storage unit. Has been renting the unit since April and hasn’t paid. Member attended upon request of complainant to determine if any items inside the locker are stolen. Random items, none reported stolen.

3:18 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious person is pounding at their door. Male wearing a red and white mask. Member attended and located an EPCOR bill between the doors. Complainant was spooked as they had a previous break-in. Mask is due to COVID-19.

3:43 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report theft of life jacket. Known person to complainant failed to return brand new neoprene life jacket.

4:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reporting known male hit their husband. Matter is still under investigation.

6:16 PM – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting their daughter missing. Believes daughter is at boyfriend’s place. Member later located daughter. Daughter was fine and not missing.

8:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant reporting 4-year-old missing. Daughter had walked out of the residence. Daughter located a short while later under their trailer. Everyone safe.

10:10 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Request to assist EMS with a male who has overdosed. Male administered NARCAN.

10:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Members called to child custody dispute.

August 19

3:54 am – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol observed a vehicle running at the side of the road with a male standing beside it petting a dog in the bad bed of the vehicle. Member approached, male intoxicated. Male advised that they had been assaulted by the driver who then fled. Vehicle towed, male provided a courtesy ride to local hotel.

5:08 AM – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting a loud diesel truck has been idling in the back alley for approximately 45 minutes. Member attended, no vehicles observed idling.

7:01 am – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting 3 dogs are running up and down the road harassing the cattle. Cattle are getting restless. Member attended location, dogs were gone.

9:07 am – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant reporting ex assaulted them. They are broken up but share a child. Ex attended residence to get child, but complainant didn’t feel that they were in the right state of mind so told them to leave. Member attended and spoke with all parties.

9:27 AM – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting cattle on the road at Hwy 759. Member attended, cattle were already back in the field. Owner advised that someone had driven through the fence. Tire tracks were noted leading into the field. Unknown who drove through the fence.

11:05 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting theft of lawn chair. Complainant advised that there are several suspicious persons coming and going from Parkview Manor and requested more patrols in the area.

12:26 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting that known female is at the residence when they are on no-contact orders to be there. Member attended, female is compliant with order.

12:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Ivan To Park – Older iPhone found in the park. Phone taken to the detachment.

12:46 pm – Drayton Valley – Mackenzie Avenue – Complainant reporting they were walking around Northview Pond when they were approached by a teen male who asked if they wanted to have sex. They stated they did not and the male teen ran away.

1:45 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting that several tools have been stolen from various work sites over the past weeks. Complainant stated that heater cables and solar panels were stolen.

1:58 pm – Drayton Valley – Eldorado School – Complainant reporting they found drug paraphernalia in the schoolyard while they were working at the tower site. Member attended and seized items that were disposed of.

3:14 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant stated that light bars and LED lighting were taken off the back of work trucks.

4:00 pm – Drayton Valley – Drayton Christian School – Complainant reporting 4 minors smoking marijuana by the west doors. Member attended and located the 4 youth who admitted to smoking. Member warned them about being underage and smoking marijuana.

10:41 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious people in an older silver Chevrolet Truck. Vehicle had broken down near the pumps. Members attended, male left on foot prior to arrival, female was in thedrivers seat and admitted to having vehicle troubles, however, was able to drive off.

August 20

1:23 am – Brazeau cCunty – Country Style Trailer court – Complainant reporting suspicious vehicle loitering near the mailbox. Dark-coloured older Dodge truck. Male walked through the complainant’s yard and got into the passenger side. Member attended, vehicle gone, patrols were negative.

4:22 am- Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting former friend broke into their residence. Damage to screen door. Several items missing.

7:00 am – Brazeau County – HWY 39 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a grey Chevrolet four-door truck with a large water tank in the box. Vehicle is passing vehicles on double solid lines. Oncoming traffic has had to pull onto the shoulder to prevent collision.

7:17 am – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant of previous custody dispute called to advise they are on their way to the city to obtain court order. Wanted members to be aware in case ex reports child missing or kidnapped.
