Red Deer RCMP investigating semi rollover

RCMP say a 30-year-old man from Red Deer was taken to hospital with minor injuries following a semi roll over at the edge of downtown Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 4:00 p.m. when Cpl. Mike Evans says the company-owned truck overturned and spilled a load of soil while negotiating the intersection of Taylor Drive and Ross Street near Carnival Cinemas.

Aside from the driver, Evans says no one else was injured during the incident and there was no damage to adjacent property.

The roll over, however, did force lane closures at the intersection for well over an hour says Evans, while officers redirected traffic in the area and crews cleaned up the spilled soil.
