Leduc woman wins quarter million dollars

When Leduc’s Kayla Dahlgren won a quarter-million dollars, she quite literally couldn’t believe her eyes.

“I kept blinking because I thought my eyes were blurry and I wasn’t reading it right,” she laughed, recalling seeing a $250,000 win on her BLACK PEARLS ZING ticket. “I was definitely in shock.”

Dahlgren picked up her winning ticket as part of a $20 Super Scratch Pack in early June from the 7-Eleven at 101 West Haven Boulevard in Leduc.

To reassure herself that her eyes weren’t playing tricks on her, she checked the ticket on the Lotto Spot! app and then headed to a store to use their ticket checker – just to be sure.

Now that she knows the win is legit, Dahlgren says she’ll use the windfall to put a down payment on a home and pay off her truck.
