Red Deer RCMP investigate pedestrian hit and run

JULY 9 – Red Deer RCMP say they have located the vehicle and driver connected to this incident and are thanking the public for their assistance.

The male driver faces charges under the Traffic Safety Act, including failure to remain the scene of an accident.

JULY 7 – RCMP in Red Deer are turning to the public for help in locating a vehicle they say was involved in a pedestrian hit and run collision on Monday.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing the southbound lanes of Gaetz Avenue at 43 Street shortly after 5 p.m. when they were struck by an older model four-door silver Pontiac Grand Prix that fled the scene eastbound.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say that a front headlight of the car involved was broken during the incident.

The driver is described as an older male with white scruffy hair and was wearing a red plaid jacket.
