Man injured in targeted shooting near Parkland Mall

RCMP now say the vehicle connected to this morning’s shooting at Parkland Mall in Red Deer has been located in Calgary and seized by CPS.

However, the suspects remain at large. More information will be shared when it becomes available.

UPDATE 1

Police are on the hunt for a suspect vehicle after a man was shot in north Red Deer this morning.

The shooting took place just after 11:30 a.m. in the northeast corner of the parking lot at Parkland Mall.

The male shooting victim was taken to hospital. There’s no word yet on the extent of his injuries.

Police are saying that the shooting appears to be targeted.

“RCMP are looking for the suspects who are believed to be driving a stolen 2016 white Jeep Cherokee* with black rims,” police said in a media release. “There appears to be three or four males in the vehicle.”

*RCMP have since confirmed they are looking for a Jeep GRAND Cherokee

RCMP believe this vehicle was stolen out of Blackfalds on June 25. It has white with black rims and tinted windows and tail lights (pictured above).

Anyone who sees the vehicle or may have any other information regarding this incident is asked to call RCMP at 403-343-5575 or 911.
