Active cases steady at 520 as holiday approaches

It’s now been more than a week since Alberta recorded a new death from COVID-19.

The number of fatalities has thankfully not climbed higher than 154 since June 20.

Meantime, 39 new cases and 39 new recoveries are being reporter Sunday, leaving the number of active cases in the province at 520.

Hospitalizations crept up one to 43, while ICU admissions held steady at eight.

Central Zone went from two to three active cases on Sunday with Tofield recording a second active case. Red Deer still has just one.

Approximately 7,000 tests were completed in the last 24-hour reporting period.

Edmonton: 242 (up 14)

Calgary: 216 (down 5)

North: 33 (down 3)

South: 25 (down 6)

Central: 3 (up 1)

Unknown: 1 (down 1)
