Drayton Valley RCMP report: June 18 – June 25

June 18

9:31 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting someone purchased auto parts over the phone with a credit card. Credit card was used fraudulently. Suspect has received approximately $3000 in auto parts. Matter is under investigation.

12:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. A small silver car with paper taped all over it. Members attended locationl. Vehicle had left, patrols located vehicle, driver spoken to. Male is in town looking for work.

3:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop on vehicle. Driver issued a violation ticket for crossing intersection improperly.

4:03 pm – Drayton Valley – Home Away Inn – Complainant reporting theft of licence plate sometime in the past two weeks.

4:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Female passenger walked away then returned. Driver in violation of court order condition of no contact with passenger.

5:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Complainant reporting their son was on the sidewalk and a neighbour took a swing at him. Members attended, statements taken. Appears to be an ongoing issue. Matter under investigation.

7:08 PM – Brazeau County – RR 71 – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Blue truck, single cab with 4 people beside it. Trying to load a grey quad. Member attended location, vehicle was gone prior to arrival. Patrols of area were negative.

9:24 PM – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting possible gunshot. Member had heard the sound as well. Determined to be fireworks.

June 19

12:33 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting a female yelling. Member attended location and conducted patrols in the area, nobody requiring assistance located.

12:56 am – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Complainant reporting a male planning on driving impaired. Male is intoxicated. Male is driving a blue 2017 Dodge Ram. Member attended and located the male who had a DD.

1:48 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol observed 2 females on the roof of the Dollar Tree Store. Both females were identified and warned about trespassing.

1:50 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant calling to report excessive noise. Someone is yelling in the hallways. Members attended, subject identified, went to bed.

4:13 am – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Complainant reporting theft of bicycle overnight. Red and black Fox BMX bike. Known suspect.

8:26 AM – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a credit card fraud. Similar issue has been reported by other companies. Male purchases auto parts over the phone using a fraudulent credit card. Matter is still under investigation.

9:19 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on their daughter. Member had spoken to daughter recently.

12:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Jubilee Avenue – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a 2014 Ford F-150, white in colour. Vehicle cut complainant off and went through a red light. Member called the registered owner of the vehicle who advised they were taking their daughter to the hospital after a cow kicked her in the head.

2:24 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting they were driving down the road when they passed a known male who punched their vehicle causing a dent in the back.

5:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting known female beat up another female. Members attended, no one would provide statement. Conditions of no contact in place.

5:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – 911 hangup received. Complainant accidentally called 911 while attempting to dial out from hotel. Member confirmed no emergency.

6:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 49B Street – Complainant reporting their red 1998 Dodge 1500 stolen. Vehicle not registered. Member attended area and made patrols, negative results.

7:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision. Female driver had a medical episode and drove onto a property. No injuries.

10:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a vehicle stop. Driver issued a warning for a burnt-out tail lamp.

June 20

1:09 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a fight between known male and female. Members attended, female did not wish anything done. Parties separated.

1:31 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting an impaired driver in a white with grey on the bottom, Ford extended cab. Vehicle is speeding and complainant saw all 4 occupants drinking. Members located the vehicle, driver sober, 3 passengers had been drinking. Verbal warning issued regarding driving behaviour.

1:42 am – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Complainant reporting an incident of possible Fake Identification. Suspect has since left. Member attended location and took possession of Fake ID.

8:46 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver charged with failing to stop.

11:43 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant concerned that known male on warrant is around town again. Member assured complainant that known male is not in town.

12:28 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a suspicious person on the side of the road near a lease site. Members attended and located known male on the side of the road. Male was intoxicated by drugs and subsequently taken back to the detachment and held until sober.

3:47 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reporting items appeared to be stolen have been left behind after male was evicted. Several bicycles.

6:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting they believe someone stole their phone when they went to the washroom. Member attended, appears complainant left the phone in a room.

8:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting they received a phone call from an unknown number. They demanded money saying they could be arrested and sent to jail. Member assured complainant that it was a prank call.

11:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting person intoxicated and doing drugs. Member attended, complainant intoxicated, advised to go to bed.

11:44 pm – Brazeau County – Fairway Meadows – Known male concerned other male will attend their residence. Complainant has been calling numerous times today for a varying number of issues.

June 21

1:00 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a possible attempted break and enter. Suspects had left, however, were in a white Chevrolet Truck, driving with no lights and stopped at building. 3 people got out and jumped the fence, then got back in the truck and it drove away. Member attended location checking all the gates along the way, no signs of any place being broken into.

3:10 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol observed a red car and a black truck. Traffic stop attempted on red car which subsequently took off at a high rate of speed. Traffic stop with black truck resulted in driver being issued a violation ticket for uninsured vehicle. Truck towed.

4:02 am – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Complainant reporting they heard glass breaking and yelling. Member attended area and conducted checks on residence. No signs of entry, nothing heard. Member spoke with owner of residence who did not hear anything.

6:41 am – Drayton Valley – 43A Street – Complainant reporting the tires on their truck and roommate’s car were slashed. Observed a black SUV driving away.

6:47 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member dispatched to a child custody complaint. Member attended, no custody agreement in place. Complainant was to have children for Father’s day as per agreement. Wanted a welfare check on the children as their ex was refusing. Children were fine.

7:55 am – Brazeau County – Brazeau Dam – Complainant reporting an assault. Statements taken. Matter still under investigation.

11”13 am – Drayton Valley – Western Trailer Court – Complainant reporting a female is walking in circles talking to herself. Members attended and located known female who advised she was walking to a friends house.

11:35 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Complainant reporting they found a little boy on a bicycle who can’t remember where their house is. Member attended, mother had been looking for him. Member provided a ride back to his residence. Mom very relieved.

12:01 pm – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer Court – Complainant reporting an unwanted female. Child custody issue. Members attended and reviewed child custody order. Female has custody of the children. Complainant advised.

3:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant advising two known persons are currently at the location and being rude. Not supposed to be living there, however one of the tenants gave them a key. When asked to leave male yelled at complainant. Members attended, both parties had left. Patrols conducted with negative results.

5:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting harassment. They were inside the store when an employee approached them and advised that they were banned from the store. Member called complainant who advised they confronted the employee who advised they were banned and employee swore at them. Advised to contact the manager.

6:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting their girlfriend is losing her cool and requested members attend as they remove their belongings. Member drove by the residence, no commotion noted.

7:07 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver on a motorcycle near the golf course. Black Harley is passing in and out of traffic on double solid line. Male is wearing a black hoodie. Member called the Registered owner and provided a warning on their manner of driving.

7:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant reporting ex is causing a scene, yelling and screaming in front of the children during their exchange. Children do not wish to go with them. Verbal altercation. No court order in place.

11:33 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting they heard several consecutive gunshots in area. Member attended and made patrols, no gunshots heard.

June 22

12:08 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Commercial alarm going off. Keyholder advised false alarm. Member attended and spoke with keyholder who advised they were a teacher.

1:09 am – Violet Grove – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Silver F-150 has been parked at the intersection for about 30 minutes. Patrols made, vehicle not located.

1:57 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting stolen vehicle. Green 1996 Dodge 1500 stolen from driveway. Complainant heard vehicle start up.

8:31 am – Brazeau County – 911 open line, ongoing issue.

9:29 am – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – EMS requesting assistance with patient at care home. Members attended, person was taken to hospital.

9:38 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant calling to report injured deer. Fish and wildlife officers unavailable. Member attended and euthanized deer.

10:35 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting an attempted theft of vehicle overnight. Lock punched out on their 1998 blue Dodge 3/4 ton truck. Hood opened.

12:13 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting a found wallet. Wallet was turned into them at the transfer station. Member attended and seized wallet. Owner contacted.

12:24 pm – Brazeau County – RR 72 – Complainant calling to report there is a no-contact order with ex. Ex is breaching order as they are driving by and calling them names.

12:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant calling to report their licence plate stolen from vehicle sometime over the weekend. Plate is from a Ford Explorer.

12:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 43A Street – Complainant reporting theft of planters from front step. Known suspects.

2:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant reporting shoplifter. Female, wearing a blue jacket. Female left the store and is on foot. Member attended, patrols made, female not located.

3:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant called about an occurrence with their boyfriend the previous night. Complainant no longer wanted contact and requested information about a restraining order. Member explained procedure. Complainant not concerned for their safety.

3:29 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing an unsafe lane change. Driver issued with a violation ticket.

3:41 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a warning for speeding.

3:57 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting a wellness check on child who is with Father for the weekend. Child was to be returned on Sunday. Member contacted Father who advised they mixed up days and would be exchanging the child right away.

4:18 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Warning issued to driver for speeding.

11:27 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting fireworks going off in trucking yard along with a loud party. Members attended and conducted patrols. No fireworks observed, no loud noise.

June 23

12:17 am – Violet Grove – Complainant reporting suspicious males on bicycles carrying a 3rd bicycle and a garbage bag. Member attended, males located, males were going through the garbage collecting bottles.

1:50 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting an assault. Male and female fighting. Members attended and located known male and female who were hugging. Parties were separated and both denied anything physical. No evidence of assault.

3:14 am – Drayton Valley – Carlton East – Member on patrol observed known male in a grey Pontiac Pursuit. Traffic stop conducted. No insurance on vehicle. Vehicle towed.

9:28 am – Drayton Valley – Lions Park – Complainant advised that they had located a child wandering around in their underwear in Lions Park. Member attended, child had escaped through the kitchen window.

10:20 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious suitcase near their garbage bin. Member attended and seized suitcase.

11:22 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd. – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a beige and navy older Ford truck. Vehicle is swerving all over the road. Member attended and located vehicle. Traffic stop conducted. Male arrested on outstanding matter.

11:51 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter to garage overnight. Pry mark scratches on main door. Boots and gun sighting kit stolen.

11:53 am – Brazeau County – Complainant requesting members conduct a welfare check on individual who hasn’t been heard from for several weeks. Matter is still under investigation.

1:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting they found a wallet near the pumps this morning. Member attended and seized wallet. Member is attempting to get ahold of owner Royston Watson.

2:41 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Request from Lethbridge police to locate and arrest male on outstanding warrants for death threats and extortion. Members attended location, male arrested.

3:28 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting a possible stolen dirt bike. Complainant bought dirt bike off Facebook and when they contacted Kawasaki, they advised to contact the police.

4:58 pm – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant calling to report they located a male face down in a creek. Members attended. Male had lost control of their motorcycle and had missed a turn. Male pronounced deceased.

8:20 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Complainant reporting they overheard a couple in an argument and was concerned for the safety of the individuals. Member attended, one party had already left residence, the other party was intoxicated. No physical argument, verbal only.

June 24

2:09 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting they observed a female on a quad in the ditch. Complainant had stopped as they were concerned they had broken down. Female had declined assistance. Member patrolled area, no one located.

9:34 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting they were selling tires and wheels and a buyer gave them a fraudulent check. Complainant out a considerable amount of money.

10:47 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant advised that they left their dark green BMX Fiend outside for approximately 15 minutes and when they returned it was gone.

11:07 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing the driver on a cell phone. Driver issued a violation ticket.

1:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious persons. Complainant observed 2 males heading into the bush by the old DV power building. Members attended the location. Small amount of copper wire located under a tree.

2:11 pm – Drayton Valley – Meier Avenue – Complainant received a call from someone who advised them there was a warrant for their arrest. Complainant provided the caller with the last 3 digits of their SIN, then disconnected when they realized it was a scam.

5:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting ex has taken their vehicle. Not an ex, commonlaw. Vehicle is not stolen.

6:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting harassing texts from tenant. Member spoke with both parties, tenant was calling the complainant several names. Members agreed any communication to be through a third party. Not harassment.

7:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting a fight between 2 males in a group home. One called the other a punk. Both males spoken to regarding their behaviour.

10:04 pm – Drayton Valley – Walmart – Complainant reporting a blue Toyota Echo is in the parking lot with a broken window and the dashboard is missing. Member called the registered owner and patrolled area.

11:27 pm – Brazeau County – 911 hangup –Open line static. Ongoing issues with phone line.

June 25

1:02 am – Drayton Valley – Calvary Baptist Church – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for failing to produce operators licence, certificate of registration, and financial responsibility card, as well as turning unsafely.

1:30 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol was flagged down by male who advised they were trying to locate their daughter. Member attended to the rear of Norquest college and located daughter. Member spoke with daughter who subsequently went to the hospital, father attended.

7:45 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reporting an intoxicated male on a lease site in a beat-up vehicle. Members attended and spoke with occupant who is known to members. Male advised they got stuck and was waiting for someone to tow them out.
