RCMP in Central Alberta have charged two people with drug and property-related offences after executing a search warrant on a home and vehicle in Wetaskiwin on June 18.

Maskwacis detachment, which was investigating drug trafficking in their own jurisdiction, identified a location of interest in Wetaskiwin.

The search, which was undertaken with help from Wetaskiwin detachment, resulted in police finding cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl. A stolen vehicle was also recovered from the property, and another vehicle was located on June 19.

From the second vehicle, police seized more than $6,000 cash, pepper spray, methamphetamine and various controlled prescription pills.

Charged are 25-year-old Domanick Fraynn and 25-year-old Alyssa Soosay.

Fraynn faces nine counts, including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He was remanded for court on June 23 in Wetaskwin.

Soosay faces eight counts, including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. She was released on bail for court on August 4 in Wetaskiwin.

“We are happy to work with our neighbouring detachments,” said Cpl. Rob Simmonds of Maskwacis CRU-GIS. “Taking drug dealers off the streets has a positive impact on both of our communities and supports both of our strategies to reduce crime.”
