Grad lawn sign campaign raises thousands for food bank
A central Alberta photographer who sought to give local grads some of their pride back for finishing high school has wrapped up her campaign.
In early May, Jennifer Donnelly of Donnelly Photography shared that she’d be selling custom lawn signs, with proceeds going to the Red Deer Food Bank.
This week, Donnelly dropped a cheque off to the food bank for $6,680.
“This started out as a community spirit project to lift the spirits of grads and their families,” she says in a Facebook post. “As well help some schools acknowledge and celebrate their grads. In total, we sold 797 signs in Red Deer and all the way to Edmonton area, Calgary area, and even some in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.”
