Rocky RCMP Report: May 29-June 4

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of May 29-June 4

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

May 29

00:45 A.M. – 911 call of a male, high and intoxicated, making threats at a residence on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Police attended and arrested the individual who was released when he sobered up.

6:34 A.M. – Police stopped a vehicle in RMH that was driven by a male who is known to be suspended. The adult male was arrested for possession of Meth & Cocaine and released to appear on a future court date. The vehicle was towed and seized for 30 days.

8:56 A.M. – Fence reported cut at Clearwater County building in RMH.

9:15 A.M. – Licence plate stolen from vehicle while parked at residence overnight in RMH.

10:53 A.M. – Licence plate stolen from vehicle overnight in Nordegg.

12:07 P.M. – Break & Enter reported to residence in RMH. Under investigation

May 30

4:30 A.M. – 911 call from an individual on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve, reporting that he woke up with a male pointing a firearm at him and demanding alcohol. Police attended and are investigating.

9:29 A.M. – Call of a burnt out vehicle at a lease site near the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Under investigation

11:35 A.M. – Report of 3 youths injured in a side-by-side ATV rollover while driving on Crown land, west of Caroline. They were transported to hospital by EMS with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

3:21 P.M. – Report of an ATV rollover in Clearwater County. 2 adults were transported to hospital in Red Deer & Edmonton.

9:03 P.M. – Police & EMS attended the scene of a motor vehicle collision near Caroline. An adult female passenger and 2 children were taken to the hospital. An adult male was arrested on scene after “Failing” the Alcohol Screening Device. Charges are pending

May 31

00:01 A.M. – Attempted B&E to Evergreen Community Center. Culprit(s) scared off by alarm.

11:27 A.M. – Report of garbage at Windy Point out at Abraham Lake, Hwy #11.

4:33 P.M. – Dispute between campers at Shunda Creek campsite in the Nordegg area. Death threats were made and the matter is under investigation.

5:37 P.M. – Yellow 2019 DODGE Ram 1500 stolen from residence on O’Chiese First Nation Reserve.

June 1

12:49 P.M. – Report of a vehicle broken into and rifled through at a residence in RMH. A number of items were stolen.

2:24 P.M. – 911 call of an assault which was occurring in a vehicle while occupants driving on Buster Creek Road, Clearwater County. Police attended and arrested an adult male who was breaching previous release conditions. He was released when sober on court documents to appear in RMH Provincial Court at a later date.

6:05 P.M. – 2008 black GMC Sierra stolen from Apartment complex in RMH.

June 2

2:02 A.M. – Call advising that a male on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve was yelling and saying people were trying to eat him. Police attended and arrested the individual who was released from police custody when he sobered up.

10:29 P.M. – Report of an assault on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Victim transported to hospital. Under investigation

June 3

2:52 A.M. – Report of an individual being bear sprayed on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Police attended and are investigating

08:00 A.M. – Theft of a work truck after driver got out to let 2 males on the side of Hwy #11 & Range Road 40-1, to use his phone. The truck is a black DODGE dually (Alberta licence plate GEC-362) with Rocky Regional Waste Authority on it.

June 4

2:34 A.M. – 911 call of a home invasion at a residence on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. A number of adult males entered a residence with firearms, threatened the residents and then stole numerous items before fleeing in multiple vehicles. Police located and pursued one of the vehicles which fled west on a lease road and on to the Forestry Trunk Road where a spike belt was utilized to disable the vehicle. One suspect was apprehended immediately while the other 2 fled into the woods. With the assistance of Police Dog Services, one individual was apprehended. Later in the day, other suspects were located after suspicious males were spotted on the Blackstone Road. In total, 6 suspects were arrested and charges are pending.
