Rocky RCMP report: May 21-28

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of May 21-28

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

May 21

4:45 P.M. – Report of an attempted shoplifter at a RMH department store. An individual tried to steal a jacket but was stopped by employees.

7:33 P.M. – Call of a person receiving death threats in RMH. An adult male was arrested and charges are pending.

May 22

4:00 A.M. – Grey 2010 CHEVROLET Equinox stolen from a residence on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve.

5:37 P.M. – Police conducted a traffic stop on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve at which the driver tried unsuccessfully to flee but was apprehended. The adult female driver was in possession of Methamphetamine and the vehicle was not insured nor registered. Vehicle was towed and charges are pending.

May 23

6:27 A.M. – Call of an intoxicated male causing problems at a residence in RMH. Police attended and arrested the individual who has outstanding warrants for his arrest from Edmonton Police Service.

6:57 A.M. – Vandalism reported to Canada Post building in RMH. Mail and garbage bags scattered around the interior.

8:11 P.M. – Licence plate stolen from a vehicle in RMH.

9:26 P.M. – Loaded firearm found in woods in Clearwater County, west of RMH.

11:06 P.M. – Call of campers with campfires, west of Caroline. Police attended and warned the campers about the Provincial Fire Ban. They doused their fires.

11:13 P.M. – International semi- truck stolen from a location in Clearwater County. It was located in a farm field on Hwy #11 & Range Road 6-3. The culprit(s) fled in a grey car.

May 24

3:02 A.M. – White 2014 FORD F-150 stolen from RMH motel.

9:34 A.M. – Complaint received from a RMH coffee shop who advised that a number of very disrespectful people had come in, removed signs from tables and threw them around. They also made fun of the employees for wearing masks. Under investigation

12:21 P.M. – Damage reported to travel trailers while parked at a location on Hwy #12.

5:09 P.M. – Complaint of an intoxicated male laying on the front lawn at a residence in RMH. Police attended and arrested the individual who was later RWS.

11:15 P.M. – Red FORD Mustang located in ditch in Clearwater County after fleeing from police. Driver fled on foot. Loaded gun found in vehicle. Investigation is continuing.

May 25

10:47 A.M. – Licence plate reported stolen from vehicle while in parking lot where the complainant works.

4:24 P.M. – Complaint of a tire slashed on employee’s vehicle while at work in Caroline.

May 26

4:55 P.M. – Wallet & contents stolen from vehicle in RMH while owner inside Post Office.

7:17 P.M. – Blue 2005 CHEV Cobalt stolen from RMH Skateboard Park.

May 27

10:16 A.M. – A known adult male and female reportedly stole a box of ammo from a Caroline business. Under investigation.

1:51 P.M. – Complaint of an intoxicated male who drove away from a RMH dealership after looking for parts.

May 28

00:19 A.M. – Call of a Hit & Run between a dirt bike and an unknown vehicle, on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. The rider of the dirt bike was treated by EMS and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The matter is under investigation.
