29 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Alberta

Another 54 Albertans have recovered from COVID-19, according to Thursday’s updated numbers from Alberta Health, bringing the total to 6,160.

There are now just 652 active cases in the province, 27 fewer than Wednesday’s total which was already a two-month low.

Fifty people are in hospital in Alberta due to COVID-19, seven more than Wednesday. Four of them are in intensive care.

Two more COVID-19 deaths were reported on Thursday to bring Alberta’s total to 143.

Out of 3,756 new test results over the past 24 hours, 29 tests came back positive to bring the province’s overall total to 6,955.

The number of cases in the Central zone remains at 99, which includes just two active cases.

Red Deer’s numbers remain unchanged with 37 total cases, including just one that is active.
