Red Deer & District FCSS launch Rural Frozen Meal Delivery Program

May 14, 2020 | 1:55 PM

Red Deer and District FCSS has launched the Rural Frozen Meal Delivery Program.

The program is available to residents of Red Deer County, the Town of Bowden, the Village of Delburne, the Village of Elnora and the Town of Penhold.

Meals are being delivered weekly to individuals and families in need as a result of self-isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic. All meals are provided at cost, with free delivery directly to residents on a weekly basis.

“The program fills an important need in rural communities where meal delivery is not always an easy option. Interested individuals fill out and submit an application form about their delivery,” according to Jo-Ann Symington, Red Deer County Community Services Manager. “Applications are reviewed to determine address, phone number, and any special instructions about the delivery. Staff will then contact the individual to notify them that the delivery will be arriving.”
