Head-on crash near Redwater injures family of five

REDWATER- RCMP say six people were taken to hospital after a head-on collision north of Edmonton.

The highway was blocked for several hours last night and traffic was being rerouted through Redwater, after the crash happened just west of the community.

Police say a man driving north in his vehicle collided with a southbound van that had a family of five in it.

The father and a child from the van were taken to hospital by air ambulance, while the mother, two children and the man in the other vehicle were transported by ground ambulance.
