Free online crime prevention presentations

May 7, 2020 | 7:00 PM

During the month of May, the Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre is offering a series of free online crime prevention presentations.

Alberta’s Crime Prevention Week is May 10 to May 16, 2020. The Government of Alberta dedicates this week to crime prevention because they believe all Albertans deserve to feel safe in their communities. Through programs, grants and services, the Crime Prevention and Restorative Justice Unit engages local communities to take part in reducing crime risk and promoting positive behaviour.

Normally, during the month of May, CACPC holds our Touch-A-Truck event, a public education event, and a Graffiti Clean event in the downtown. However, due to COVID-19, those community activities have been cancelled.

However, we are offering crime prevention presentations via Zoom beginning May 12. Topics will include:

· Crime Prevention for Your Home

· Crime Prevention for Your Condo

· Removing & Reporting Graffiti

· Crime Prevention for Your Business

· CACPC & Wise Owls: Fraud & Scams for Seniors

· Basic Personal Safety Tips.

Each presentation is approximately 45 – 60 minutes in length and is offered twice daily.

To register, please visit our website (cacpc.ca), our Facebook page, or EventBrite. You will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom meeting link to join the presentations.

May 12-14, (Tuesday – Thursday) and May 19-21 (Tuesday – Thursday); 10:00 AM or 2:00 PM.

The mission of the Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre is to engage, educate and empower residents to increase community safety.
