Blackfalds shooting incident ends with man dead near Leduc
Update – May 7, 9:30 a.m.
RCMP Serious Crimes Branch is now requesting dash cam footage of Wednesday’s incident [see details below] that led to the death of a 27-year-old man near Leduc.
Of specific interest, they say, is footage of a black, four-door BMW Sedan between 8:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on May 6.
The footage would have been taken in the town of Blackfalds, on Highway 2A between Blackfalds and Lacombe, or on the QEII between Lacombe and Leduc.

A 27-year-old man is dead and a police officer seriously injured following a confrontation near Leduc that came after a bystander was shot Wednesday morning in Blackfalds.
At 8:15 this morning, Blackfalds RCMP responded to a firearms complaint at a residence in Blackfalds. RCMP arrived and more shots were fired outside of the residence towards RCMP vehicles.
Police say a woman in the area, who was not connected with the incident, was struck by a bullet and taken to hospital with serious injuries.
