The Red Rebels announced on Monday that they have put pen to paper with forward Jhett Larson.

Larson was the Rebels’ eights round selection, 163rd overall, in the 2019 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Larson, from Delisle, Saskatchewan, played last season with the Notre Dame Hounds in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. In 40 games, he had 14 goals, 23 assists for 37 points.

Larson, 16, also played with Team Saskatchewan in the 2019 WHL Cup. In five games, he had one goal and four assists for five points as Team Saskatchewan won the championship for the first time.

“Jhett is a riser in his age group who has developed rapidly due to his drive and competitiveness,” says Shaun Sutter, Red Deer Rebels Assistant General Manager. “He starred at the WHL Cup helping lead team SK to victory at the event. He had a very impressive season with Notre Dame developing into a smart, versatile, gritty two way forward who plays big, can score and make plays.”

Larson, who is listed at 5’8” and 160 pounds, is a 2004-born player.
