Drayton Valley RCMP report: April 9 – April 16

April 9

8:55 am –Parkland County – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting a white Dodge Journey is in a field covered in mud. Members attended and located a male and female. Male had outstanding warrant and was arrested. Vehicle towed.

10:14 am –Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Complainant reporting a hit and run while parked. Someone backed into their 2019 Black Ford F-150. Bumper on the driver’s side was smashed in.

10:21 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting harassment over Facebook. Advised to block person.

10:50 am – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reporting mischief to man door on garage. No entry gained. 3 males then left on foot and entered a gold Blazer type vehicle.

11:33 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting 2 trucks abandoned for the past 2 days. One is a red GMC, the other is a white Ford F-150. Members attended. The Ford had been reported stolen from the Rimbey area. Both vehicles towed.

12:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Complainant reporting unwanted people in the bathroom. Member attended and spoke with individuals who were there taking a shower. UFA card produced to allow them to be in there.

1:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Found backpack near the complainant’s vehicle. Papers inside identify the owner to be a male from Wetaskiwin. Several court documents inside as well. Member seized backpack. Will attempt to get back to owner.

2:20 pm – Brazeau County –Hwy 624 – Complainant advised that they had a knock on the door at approximately 5:30 am, then the doorbell rang. Lone male asked for a blanket and a sandwich. Both provided, male left.

4:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting their garage had been broken into again. Known suspects. Complainant was very belligerent to OCC operator. Ongoing issue between landlord and tenant.

5:33 pm – Brazeau County – RR 92 – 911 call received. Ongoing issue. Telus aware.

April 10

2:23 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver charged for driving an uninsured vehicle and unregistered vehicle.

7:55 am – Cynthia – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle just exited a lease site. Vehicle described as a late model Toyota, silver in colour, large tires and bush guard on bumper. Towing a single axle covered trailer.

9:21 am – Drayton Valley – 57 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious male in their yard. Bicycle tracks pulling a trailer. Some ground and copper wire stolen.

10:36 am – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant reporting suspicious persons. 2 customers came into the store trying to buy prepaid visa cards. Male and female. Male described as approximately 6’1”, wearing blue jeans with a backpack, female approximately 5’5”, black hoodie and black leggings, pink backpack. Member patrolled area, not located.

10:55 am – Brazeau County – RR 70 – Complainant reporting theft of Bobcat sometime over the past two weeks. Member attended, unknown when taken.

11:56 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting someone broke into their garage. Two vehicles are damaged. Member attended, suspect male wearing a black hoodie with white symbol. Male recognized, located, arrested and charged.

12:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting theft of licence plate. Unknown when plate stolen.

12:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver charged with failing to provide insurance card.

1:56 pm – Drayton Valley – Swimming Pool – Complainant reporting suspects attempting to break and enter the bathrooms behind the pool. Member attended, suspects gone, no entry gained.

2:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious male behind the building. Male is wearing a black heavy winter coat. Member attended, patrols made, no one located.

4:19 pm – Brazeau County – RR 92 – 911 open line. Ongoing issue with phone line.

5:57 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 492 – Complainant reporting a suspicious person walking down the road looking up the driveways. Suspect is wearing a black jacket with black boots. Member patrolled area, persons not located.

7:13 pm – Brazeau County – RR 92 – Open 911 line. False alarm, ongoing issue.

7:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a silver Ford Ranger. Driver is all over the road. Member located vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Driver advised they were trying to avoid potholes.

7:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting they received a call from KFC insisting that they had ordered a 25 piece bucket with their name and number. Complainant did not call in an order. Likely a wrong number or someone playing a prank. No money requested.

8:37 pm – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reporting suspicious males near the mailbox. Have been sitting there for the past hour. A white Ford F-150 can be seen in the distance. Member attended and located persons who advised they were waiting for a friend.

8:53 pm – Pleasantview Trailer Court – 911 hangup received. Caller advised they heard someone in their house. Member attended, all ok.

April 11

1:50 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 753 – Complainant reporting a snowplow rollover. Members attended, driver advised that they had been north and caught the road edge with the plow blade.

10:31 am – Pleasantview Trailer Court – Complainant calling to report someone in their house. Members attended, no break-in, caller very paranoid.

12:07 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant calling to report they have recovered a stolen John Deer tractor. Member attended and located tractor which was subsequently towed.

5:04 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant requesting members attend and remove 2 unwanted persons who are refusing to leave the shed. Members attended and advised persons that they had to leave.

6:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting their son left the residence after dinner with no shoes or jacket. Members located male who was given a courtesy ride home.

6:42 pm – Drayton Valley, 50 Street – Unwanted male inside the bank vestibule. Male is wearing a dark hoody and pants with a purple backpack. Member attended, male is waiting for a ride, advised to leave.

7:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complaint of noise. Members attended and were then turned away by complainant as the neighbours had quietened down.

11:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Report of a male checking doors of vehicles. Suspect got out of a dark-coloured Jeep Liberty. Member conducted patrols, vehicle not located.

April 12

12:03 am – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd. – Complainant reporting a Black Chevrolet doing laps around dealership. Vehicle also observed driving through Canadian Tire and Walmart parking lot. Member located vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Driver was a teen who advised they were playing hid and seek with their vehicles.

2:53 pm – Brazeau County – 911 open line, nothing heard. No emergency. Problem with the phone line.

6:29 pm – Drayton Valley – Centre Court Trailer Court – Complainant advising their landlord came into their trailer without notice and made a mess. Landlord advised there was a water leak and they had to move some items.

7:03 pm – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Complainant reporting tenant is tampering with cameras. Member attended and spoke with suspect. No damage done, problem corrected. Suspect advised to leave them alone or charges could be laid.

April 13

2:48 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a truck stuck in the ditch. Members attended, vehicle not located.

2:18 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Complainant reporting their belongings were stolen from the garage where they were staying. Stolen items include a TV, computer, tools. Member called complainant.

6:09 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Break and Enter to Evergreen school site. Several tools and power cut.

9:39 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting driver texting, speeding. Member contacted complainant who wished driver to be warned. Member called Registered Owner and provided warning.

2:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. Male and female who are banned from store are outside it. Member attended location and patrolled area. Nothing happened today, suspects not located.

7:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting harassment ongoing through social media.

7:54 pm – Brazeau County– Break and Enter to lease site, 4 batteries stolen.

10:25 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a blue SUV. Driver is tailgating.

11:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle that was stopped in the intersection. EMS called, driver a diabetic and suffering from low blood sugar.

April 14

2:33 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Unwanted male is causing problems. Male was evicted the previous day. Members attended, male was attempting to retrieve belongings.

2:42 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 753 – Complainant reporting a vehicle in the ditch. Silver minivan. Members attended and located vehicle which had been reported stolen. Female located nearby and arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.

2:49 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting people keep banging on the shed in the back yard and running through the property. Red 4 door car and black 4 door vehicle. Members attended area, patrols made, nothing suspicious noted.

6:09 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Complainant reporting neighbour is outside on the driveway in their vehicle with a young child.

7:58 am – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant reporting male came in and attempted to buy a gift card and scratch ticket. Didn’t know pin number. Suspect left. Debit card likely stolen.

11:41 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a break and enter to their cabin. Entry made through front door. Suspects stole several items including a red 2005 Suzuki quadrunner with blade, camo mountain bike and camping goods.

2:01 pm – Tomahawk – Request members assist with retrieving belongings.

3:21 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting dead cows in the ditch. Member attended, 3 cows and 2 calves were dumped in the ditch. Forwarded to livestock investigator for further investigation.

4:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 44A Avenue – Complainant reporting theft from vehicle overnight. Wallet with identification, credit cards were stolen from their silver Ford Escape.

4:49 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious males on bikes with a lot of stuff. Air compressors and various other items. Member attended, items checked, not stolen.

7:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a neighbour dispute over a parking spot.

11:48 pm – Brazeau county – RR 91 – Complainant reporting suspicious activity near a lease site. Group of two snowmobiles and one quad near the entrance. Members attended and located persons who were just out snowmobiling, not related to recent break-ins.

April 15

12:27 am – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated male in parking lot wearing an orange sweater, singing, swearing. Members attended and located known female who was arrested for causing a disturbance. Released when sober.

2:40 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – 911 open line, argument could be heard in background. Member called complainant who advised they were calling as friend had overdosed.

10:36 am – Drayton Valley – 55A Street – Complainant reporting an assault from the previous day. Complainant advised there were no injuries and that the fight was consensual. Would not provide a statement.

1:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting harassing messages received over Facebook. 5 messages received, not threatening. Both parties spoken to.

1:57 pm – Drayton Valley – Drayton Valley Hospital – 911 hangup received, ongoing issue. Member attended, no emergency, all fine.

2:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft from vehicle sometime in the last 4 days. Tire pressure gauge stolen along with a small amount of change.

3:31 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting persons are shooting at the gates to the Nordic Ski Club. 2 dark trucks and 4 or 5 persons shooting rifles. Member attended, vehicles were gone prior to arrival. No further descriptions provided.

6:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting a fire near the bushes. Members attended and located remnants of a smoldering fire. Members ensured embers were extinguished.

April 16

1:04 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver charged with not having a driver’s licence.
