Magdalene House invites public to learn about human trafficking

Feb 9, 2020 | 9:00 AM

Magdalene House Society is hosting an event on Feb. 22 to raise awareness on what is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day.

The event, which goes from 9:30-2:30 at the Black Knight Inn, will feature two speakers; first, Tiana Sharifi, the founder and director of Sexual Exploitation Education (SEE).

Sharifi will speak to attendees about how predators groom their victims, and give tips and tools on how to avoid the traps they set.

Tammy Rogers, the executive director for Magdalene House Society, will also speak about the SOS program, which she developed. SOS is an afterschool program for middle school students which will be piloted in a number of local schools this year.
