Two suspects charged in the shooting death of a young man last month in Lacombe made a brief court appearance Friday morning.

Tyler John Campbell, 27, and Amie Rogers, 21, both appeared in Red Deer provincial court via CCTV. Campbell is currently in custody at the Red Deer Remand Centre while Rogers is being held at the Edmonton Remand Centre.

Each is charged with second-degree murder and resisting a peace officer in relation to the death of Jeffery Kraft. The 20-year-old man from Ponoka died from a gunshot wound he suffered during an altercation just after 2 a.m. on Dec. 15, 2019.

Three people attended Friday wearing t-shirts showing a picture of Kraft along with the words “JUSTICE FOR JEFF.” They chose not to comment at this time.
