Drayton Valley RCMP report: Dec. 27-Jan. 2

December 27

2:14 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Member on patrol located male wanted on warrant. Search of male resulted in an amount of methamphetamine which was seized. Male charged with possession.

2:37 am – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reporting unwanted persons who will not leave. Members attended, both parties were gone upon arrival. Patrols made with negative results. Unwanted persons returned and spray painted a truck and left again.

3:38 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Fire department reporting fire at All Choice Rentals. Back hoe and loader on fire. Complainant was just driving by.

7:08 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his truck window broken and ignition damage, apparent result of an attempted theft of the truck.

8:44 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male refusing to leave a business, acting creepy. Members attended, male had left. Suspect in this incident arrested elsewhere later in the day acting similar.

9:59 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Complainant reporting an attempted break and enter overnight. Someone took a crowbar to the back door of business and attempted to pry it open. Access not gained.

3:55 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male locked in maintenance room of an apartment building. Members attended, male arrested (see 8:44 am) for mischief and held in cells overnight.

11:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Landfill – Members attended to assist with a fire. Fire contained to a dumpster, extinguished by Fire Dept. Foot patrols of the area didn’t locate any suspects, but fire believed to be related to homeless person(s) who frequent the area.

December 28

1:34 am – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Staff reported four people fighting and threatening security staff. Members attended, one male was arrested and charged with assault.

6:33 am – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported his 1992 Dodge pickup stolen. Truck had been left running to warm up but no keys were in it.

8:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 St – Complainant reported three iPods and her wallet stolen from vehicle. Unknown exactly when this occurred, vehicle had been unlocked.

10:54 pm – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Staff reporting an intoxicated male refusing to leave, had been intoxicated on arrival. Members attended, male unable to provide his name or address. Male was arrested and held in cells until morning.

December 29

1:33 am – Drayton Valley – 48 Ave – Complainant reported a possible breach, believed her ex had been ringing her doorbell. Suspect has no-contact conditions with complainant and vice versa. Suspect had left and wasn’t located, police unable to confirm identity. Police have dealt with these persons a multitude of times recently.

2:40 am – Drayton Valley – 51 St – Anonymous male reporting a female passed out in the bed of his truck; female apparently wanted to go home with him and thought this would happen if she climbed in the bed. Complainant took a taxi home. Members found the bed of the truck empty, female gone. Perhaps an unsuccessful re-enactment of a country song.

7:16 am – Parkland County – Hwy 624 – Complainant reported four horses wandering down the highway. Member attended, horses located in a nearby yard. Owner contacted and retrieved the horses. Escape caused by owner’s sons forgetting to close a gate after sledding.

10:36 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting theft of wallet from vehicle. Vehicle was unlocked.

11:02 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft from vehicle overnight. Blue Dodge Ram was broken into and several items stolen.

1:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter to shed overnight. Suspects cut the deadbolt lock. Nothing stolen.

December 30

1:54 am – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on an individual who appeared to be passed out in the snow bank. Members attended and located known female who was arrested for breaching conditions and taken to detachment to sober up.

10:07 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting theft from motor vehicle. Wallet was stolen along with credit cards. An attempt to use a credit card at FasGas.

11:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious people stealing from the donation box. A white older model Ford half tonne with a large red cylinder in the back has been repeatedly driving through the parking lot along with a blue Ford long box. People keep coming and going from vehicles. Members attended, one male arrested on outstanding warrants.

December 31

12:03 am – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Complainant reporting a suspicious truck in the parking lot. Male has walked away. Member attended and located the white Dodge. Registered owner advised it was stolen. Ford Excursion nearby had door punched and ignition broken.

10:08 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Single vehicle collision, vehicle slid on ice into a cement meridian. No injuries.

12:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Theft from a motor vehicle. Change and misc items taken.

7:17 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Vehicle struck a dog and police were called to euthanize it and assist in locating the owner. The dog was already deceased when police arrived and inquiries in the area did not locate an owner.

11:18 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Numerous people partying and setting off fireworks. Members made patrols to insure things didn’t get out of hand.

January 1

9:09 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Stolen vehicle overnight, purple 1998 Dodge Ram with a grey hood. Also stolen from the property was an Alberta license plate CCR-1661.

4:21 pm – Drayton Valley – RCMP Detachment – A male attended the detachment to report harassment online. The male was unable to provide details of the harassment, but had been told by others he was being harassed, but was unable to provide who told him this. Members were unable to follow up.

7:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Report of what sounded like gunshots heard in the area. Members made patrols and saw fireworks being set off near 50 Street and 50 Avenue, however, nobody was located.

January 2

5:03 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of shoplifting from 7/11. Male stole a pack of cigarettes after being caught trying to steal a reusable cup in a slurpee container. The male left in a red pickup truck with Alberta license plate CDS-5934.

4:47 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Stolen vehicle, older model white GMC truck with a snow blade on the front.
