Car stolen from Red Deer used in another vehicle theft in Drumheller

Dec 23, 2019 | 4:53 PM

Drumheller RCMP are investigating the case of a car stolen out of Red Deer being used in another incident in that community.

On Dec. 21, at around 2 a.m., a truck was stolen from a home in Drumheller. The victim heard it being driven away and followed it in another vehicle.

The victim located the truck with a suspect inside and confronted him.

A second stolen vehicle — a silver Volkswagen Jetta — pulled up alongside them with two more males inside. It’s alleged that one of the males brandished what’s believed to have been a handgun and pointed it at the victim before all three fled in the Jetta. No one was hurt.

The silver Jetta with AB plate RKM593 was previously stolen from Red Deer and is yet to be recovered.

Drumheller RCMP are asking anyone who has information regarding this incident to contact them at 403-823-7590. If you spot this vehicle, please call police and do not make contact with the occupants as they are considered armed and dangerous.

If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
