Warburg Post Office Broken Into

Dec 18, 2019 | 11:14 AM

Thorsby RCMP are investigating an incident of mail theft that occurred at the Warburg Canada Post office.

Officers responded to reports of theft from the post office on Tuesday. Four mailboxes were broken into and emptied of contents. Access to the main office was not attempted.

Thorsby RCMP are seeking information from any potential witnesses to this event, which is believed to have occurred between Dec. 16 at 9:00 p.m. and Dec.17 at 7:00 a.m.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Thorsby RCMP at 780-789-3951 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

The Warburg incident is the latest in a series of six post office break-ins in the province this month. On December 6 the post offices in Sangudo and Wabamun were broken into. On the 8th, break-ins occurred at post offices in Erskine and Botha, near Stettler. On December 12, the post office in Swan Hills reported a break-in and police are still searching for the two suspects seen on surveillance in that robbery.

RCMP say all robberies have occurred when the post offices were closed and the investigations continue.
