A competitive baseball athlete from Red Deer has been named the Alberta Sport Development Centre – Central (ASDC-C) Athlete of the Month for November.

Adam Turgeon is a 16-year-old Grade 11 student at St. Joseph’s High School and a current member of the St. Joseph’s Ball Academy.

Turgeon played with the AAA 18U Red Deer Braves baseball team as a 15 year old this past summer and is an Honours student at St. Josephs.

He is a pitcher, third baseman and outfielder and will begin to focus more on his pitching as he hopes to secure a baseball scholarship in the NCAA once he graduates.

Turgeon will try-out for the AAA Braves U18 team again in January 2020.

Also a member of the St. Joseph’s High School Falcons Junior Boys Volleyball team this fall, Turgeon is looking forward to playing with the Falcons Rugby team as well in the coming spring.

This past spring, Turgeon attended the RBC Training Ground event in Red Deer.

At the conclusion of the event, Turgeon’s test scores resulted in him being chosen as one of 100 athletes in Canada to attend the National Final.

ASDC – Central officials say those achievements are a testament to his athletic abilities and his future in sport.
