Lacombe lowers projected tax hike for 2020

Lacombe City Council has taken further steps to keep any tax rate increases for residents next year to a minimum.
On Monday, council directed administration to return the 2020 Operating Budget, based on a 0.9 per cent tax rate increase, to the Dec. 9 regular meeting of council for final adoption.
That’s down from a 1.4 per cent tax rate increase that was originally proposed – a number considered to be in line with Alberta’s Consumer Price Index (CPI).
A zero per cent tax rate increase scenario was also explored by administration.
