Road closures in effect for Rogers Hometown Hockey

Motorists should be aware of a series of road closures in downtown Red Deer during the Rogers Hometown Hockey celebration at the Gary W. Harris Celebration Plaza.

The following road closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. on Thursday, November 28 to 6 a.m. on Monday, December 2. See the detour map for more information.

– 48 Avenue from 51 Street to 53 Street

– A small portion of 52 Street west of 48 Avenue

– A small portion of 53 Street east of 48 Avenue

Several Red Deer Transit routes will be affected by the road closures. For more information, visit www.reddeer.ca/transitdisruptions. Bus pick-up and drop-off for École Intermédiare Central Middle School will be accommodated at 51 Street and 48 Avenue.

Culture Services will remain open for regular programming during this time; please use the northeast entrance.

Several parking options are available for those attending the event. The closest public parking lots are P8, P4 and the Sorenson Station parkade. Metered on-street parking is available on 50 (Ross) street, 49 street and 50 (Gaetz) avenue. A map of off and on-street parking in downtown Red Deer is available at www.reddeer.ca/parkingdowntown.

Residents can also use MyBus to plan their route on Red Deer Transit.
