Drayton Valley RCMP Report: Oct. 31-Nov. 7

October 31

10:17 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two company fleet trucks were stolen sometime overnight. Both were recovered about a block away at a bulk fuel location. Complainant didn’t want the trucks examined for evidence as they were needed for work .

12:14 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Industrial area – Complainant reported the attempted theft of a truck from business yard overnight.

5:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members responded to a report of a robbery with a knife from a liquor store. Investigation and description of the suspect lead to a male being located and arrested nearby. Dwayne Potts, 23, of Drayton Valley has been charged accordingly and was remanded in custody.

8:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Members located a stolen vehicle in a parking lot. Members conducted surveillance for about a half hour until a male, known to police, approached and began to drive away. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver fled at high speed. The driver was subsequently located walking by Canadian Tire and arrested. Tim Leneveu, 25, is facing several new charges including possession of stolen property and dangerous driving.

November 1

8:01 am – Drayton Valley – RCMP detachment – Female attended the detachment to request assistance retrieving belongings from ex’s house. When members spoke to the female they determined she was driving while impaired by alcohol. A separate file was opened and the female was charged for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

12:34 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainants advised they were notified of bank and credit card accounts being opened fraudulently in their name. Suspect name provided, under investigation.

9:06 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621/RR75 – Complainant reported an abandoned vehicle on business property. Member attended, truck not stolen but valid registration/insurance couldn’t be confirmed. Current “owner” contacted, had tow truck en route from Edmonton.

November 2

3:10 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Hotel staff reported a customer saw a male who police were looking for, in the parking lot. Member attended and located the male youth who was arrested on unrelated matters.

5:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Members investigated a domestic custody dispute. A male was charged after the matter escalated to an assault.

November 3

3:40 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St/43 Ave – Complainant reported a male following him. Members attended and located the complainant who had been assaulted by unknown male he encountered while walking home. Complainant taken to hospital for treatment, still under investigation, possible suspect identified.

4:37 am – 6:03 am – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Three separate related reports received involving a male yelling in the lane, threatening persons and harassing a female ex-partner. A 25-year-old male was eventually located and charged with uttering threats.

1:21 pm – Drayton Valley – RCMP – Edmonton Police assisted as members executed arrest warrants on a male in custody on unrelated Drayton Valley matters.

6:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Police responded to a business alarm and determined a break and enter had occurred and several items were stolen. Investigation lead to the arrest of 40-year-old Drayton Valley resident Steven Ketch who is charged with possession of stolen property.

10:26 pm – Brazeau County – RR73 – Complainant reported that sometime over the weekend his Outlaw Clearwater jet boat and trailer had been stolen from his property. Value of boat and trailer in excess of $100,000. Under investigation.

November 4

7:48 am – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Complainant reported that someone pulled the valve stems out of his tires overnight. Captured on video, but very blurry.

1:37 pm – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported break and enter to two lease sites. At first site culprits rammed gate to enter but nothing appeared to be taken as little is kept on site. Second site had an Eagle pump and a blue compressor stolen.

1:52 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reported that sometime over the previous weekend a 4×8’ Snow Bear flat deck trailer was stolen from his property.

2:42 pm – Drayton Valley – Members attended a residence after paramedics were called and found a deceased male. Investigation has been turned over to the Coroner, death not suspicious. No further details to be released.

7:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a female had been in a hotel public washroom for about 2.5 hours and was refusing to leave. Member attended and the female agreed to leave, but she was instead arrested as there were outstanding warrants for her arrest

November 5

10:12 am – Drayton Valley – Park Pool – Unwanted female causing a disturbance, not making any sense and blurting out random thoughts. Members attended and transported the female to cells where she could peaceably voice her random thoughts until they had cleared her system.

10:19 am – Parkland County – Tomahawk area – Complainant reported his “Tiger Brindle English Staffordshire Bull Terrier” named Image, missing and presumed stolen. Occurred overnight. Under investigation.

10:33 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/Hwy 624 – Collision, reported as one vehicle headed south and was sideswiped by a second that was headed north. Under investigation.

3:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported a threatening note written in pen on back door of an office. Under investigation.

6:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported her adult daughter as possibly suicidal, threatening to stab police if they attended, possibly drug related incident. Complainant had obtained a Mental Health Act warrant. Members attended and calmed the daughter down who was then arrested and transported to Centennial Hospital in Ponoka for treatment.

9:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his red 2016 F150 stolen while parked at the grocery store. Complainant believes truck may have been unlocked with keys inside.

November 6

9:28 am – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported that a Stihl weedeater was stolen from the box of his truck while parked overnight.

10:52 am – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Complainant reported unknown person(s) parked an old holiday trailer on private property over the past couple days. Member attended, it appears some super-classy person essentially disposed of their garbage by parking on complainant’s property

6:54 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/Hwy 621 – Complainant reported hitting a caribou at location (elk perhaps?) that then ran into the woods, causing vehicle damage.

8:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported that his stolen truck was parked near a residence. Members attended and located the truck which was towed from the location.

November 7

12:31 am – Drayton Valley – West Winds Hotel – Report of patrons fighting in the bar. Members attended, fight already broken up, parties dispersed. Witnesses reported it was a consensual fight.
