Sylvan Lake man charged in spouse’s murder

A Sylvan Lake man has been charged with murder following the death of his spouse last week.

On Sept. 11, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Sylvan Lake RCMP responded to a 911 call in a residential neighbourhood.

Upon arrival, a 36-year-old female resident was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. RCMP arrested a 41-year-old male resident at the scene.

On Sept. 14, Mounties say the 36-year-old female victim died in hospital as result of her injuries.

Satnam Singh Sandhu has been charged with one count of second degree murder in the homicide of Kulvinder Sandhu.

Police say Satnam Singh Sandhu has been remanded into custody and is due to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Sept. 18.

As this matter is now before the courts, RCMP say no further information will be provided.
