RDC teams win cross-country event on home soil
RDC cross-country runners started their 2019 ACAC season by earning wins on home turf over the weekend.
Paced by Bachelor of Education Elementary student Shayla Sklaruk (25:52.98), the Queens team took top spot followed by Concordia and Augustana.
Individually, RDC’s Shayla Sklaruk (25:52.98) completed the 6 km course first among ACAC women. Concordia’s Ana Zulic (26:05.50) was next and RDC’s Jill Stewart (26:25.55) wrapped up third spot.
Impressively, the RDC Queens had seven student-athletes in the top ten. Caitlin Debree (26:54.11) finished fourth. Teagan Shapka (27:42.64) was sixth. Mackenzie Spinks (28:06.06) placed eighth and Jenna Sahulka (29:09.70) finished tenth.
