Fall Into Fun Family Festival for Children with Special Needs

Sep 11, 2019 | 10:42 AM

RED DEER, AB – Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre will host their annual Fall into Fun festival for children with special needs and their families on Saturday, September 14.

This event will be held at Joseph Welsh Elementary School at 4401 – 37 Avenue, Red Deer, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, rain or shine.

As these children are often unable to participate in other family festivals, we believe it’s important that they too have a place where they can come and feel welcome, safe and appreciated as well as have fun. All activities at this event are adaptable to the special needs of these children.

Our annual sponsors for this event are the Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity and Servus Credit Union. Fire trucks and equipment will be on hand and children are encouraged to explore the equipment and even spray the fire hose! This fun family event also includes face painting, bouncy castles, entertainment, games, snacks and much more. This festival is for the whole family, so bring a lawn chair and spend the day. A free hot dog lunch is also generously provided by local businesses.

Aspire’s Fund Development Coordinator, Angela Davis, says “this event gives children with special needs an opportunity to experience a festival designed specifically for them, and they love it! It also gives Aspire an opportunity to give back to the community, and to continue to fulfill our mission of providing hope to children with special needs, the families who love them and the communities that care for them.”

Admission and activities are free to attendees. Parents are encouraged to bring the whole family, so please join us as we celebrate fall and have some fun!
