Calgary firefighters battle blaze at recycling plant

CALGARY- Firefighters had to battle for several hours to contain a stubborn blaze at a Calgary recycling centre.

Crews were called to ECCO Recycling and Energy Corporation around 8:30 p.m.

Recycling material was ablaze near the main building when crews arrived at the southeast location.

The fire was still burning as of late Tuesday evening and crews were expected to be at the scene well into this morning to prevent flare-ups.
