Community Futures Central Alberta holds delegation for county council.

A group from Community Futures Central Alberta visited Tuesday’s Clearwater County council meeting to explain what they are all about.

The non-profit organization focuses on rural communities helping individuals get their small businesses off the ground with loans, grant advice, financial planning and skills training.

“We’ve quite recently been active in Rocky Mountain House helping an individual with a loan for their business,” General Manager from Community Futures Central Alberta Kelly Kierluk stated.

“All the local decisions are made from the board, so they are able to act and help quite quickly,” explained Kierluk

The non-profit group has already handed out $21 million in loans in central Alberta and has served almost 6,000 clients with a majority of them being from Red Deer.
