Drayton Valley weekly RCMP report June 13-20

June 13

8:25 am – Drayton Valley, 53 Avenue – Complainant reported her truck stolen. Complainant wasn’t aware the truck was stolen until she received a call that it had been recovered burnt by Rimbey RCMP.

1:12 pm – Drayton Valley – File opened to investigate two stolen trucks observed in the area. Passenger known to police, still under investigation.

1:19 pm – Drayton Valley – Weyerhauser – Staff member reported receiving up to 80 calls allegedly from a payday loan company, seeking payment from an unknown person. Investigation found similar files in other jurisdictions. Unable to call back the number provided, advice given.

4:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Police requested to assist with complaint of multiple deceased cats at a local residence. Local animal control seized 20 live and 17 deceased cats from location. Under investigation, liaising with SPCA investigators.

6:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave/52 St – Off duty RCMP member observed a known prolific car thief driving a stolen truck from Rimbey. On duty member attempted a traffic stop, driver fled. Driver, Murlin Becker was located later and arrested, currently awaiting a bail hearing on multiple new charges.

June 14

10:06 am – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting theft of propane and compressor at lease site. Suspects entered the site in a truck and stole propane.

12:06 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting theft from truck while parked at Kay-Son R.V. Park. Laptop, wallet, jack-knife and a quantity of change taken.

5:38 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting that a female and their ex are attending their location and they are fighting. Members attended, Male charged with assault and breach of conditions, female charged with breaching conditions.

June 15

4:41 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Members on patrol for stolen vehicle located a truck. Driver was on several conditions and warrants from Stoney Plain. Driver was arrested.

9:47 am – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Complainant reporting 2 males going through sheds at abandoned property. Members attended and located 2 known males. Peter Bilan, 39, was arrested on unrelated matter for possession of stolen property, held for a hearing and released by Justice of Peace. Other male advised not to return.

9:55 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting burnt out truck on a lease site. Member attended, confirmed vehicle stolen from Rimbey on June 13.

11:05 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a hit and run in construction area at top of hill. A lighter coloured Ford F150 rear ended them and kept going. Members attended, suspect vehicle not located.

June 16

12:33 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting theft of fuel overnight. Someone stole jerry cans from location.

7:13 pm – Drayton Valley – Carleton East – Complainant reporting a dispute. Members attended, complainant was intoxicated. Members took complainant to hospital.

11:42 pm – Drayton Valley – Service Plus Inns – Complainant reporting an unknown male is going through the trash and appears to be trying to get into vehicles. Male has white hair, grey hoody and is on a bicycle with a small backpack. Member patrolled area and located the suspect who was known to police. Looking for bottles.

June 17

5:55 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting theft of their 2004 red F250 sometime overnight.

6:26 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a pick up truck cut them off and side swiped them.

8:12 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Complainant reporting an attempted theft of their 2003 Ford Excursion. Vehicle was broken into overnight. Damage to ignition.

8:20 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting they found a gun while working in their yard – Members attended. Gun seized

9:04 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle, silver Jeep. Took out a portion of fence, very smashed up. Member attended vehicle located. Owner reported that the vehicle had been missing for approximately three days.

9:53 am – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant reporting theft of red Dodge Dakota sometime over last two weeks.

June 18

12:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Complainant called to report a red Subaru hatchback with a smashed up back end has been parked at the location since yesterday. The bumper is laying next to the sidewalk. Member attended. Vehicle related to a previous hit and run on Highway 22.

2:55 pm – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant called to report a hit and run. Complainant was rear ended twice by a lady in a white Toyota Truck. Matter is still under investigation.

June 19

12:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting theft from vehicle sometime overnight. White bifold wallet with “bolcum” written on it containing drivers license, cash and bank cards were in wallet. Vehicle was unlocked.

12:29 pm – Drayton Valley – Center lane – Complainant wishing members attend to check on welfare of female who has a wound on her head. Members attended, EMS called.

1:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting theft from garage over night. Two propane bottles and electric blower stolen. Entry made by smashing the door.

2:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 55A Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter to the gated facility. Fence was broken and copper wires were stripped.

2:53 pm – Drayton Valley – Home Away Inn – Complainant reporting theft of truck. A suspicious white truck with two unknown males pulled up. One got out and broke into a red truck, both vehicles drove away.

3:24 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting they located the stolen truck and are following it. Members from Evansburg and Drayton Valley attended, vehicle located. Two individuals arrested for possession of stolen property.

8:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Sheriffs called to request assistance from members for a suspended driver. Members attended, driver arrested.

8:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 49B Avenue – Complainant reporting an attempted break and enter to their residence. The screen and exterior window were sitting on the ground outside the residence. Member attended, no entry gained into residence.
