Eight Rocky properties headed to public auction

Eight properties that have fallen behind on their property taxes in Rocky Mountain House are headed to the auction block.

As per the Municipal Government Act, any properties three or more years in arrears (money that is owed and should have been paid earlier) on their taxes would proceed to public auction. The Town of Rocky Mountain House has received a Ministerial Order to have the public auction prior to August 31, 2019.

The land is being offered for sale on an “as is, where is” basis. The Town of Rocky Mountain House makes no representation and gives no warranty whatsoever as to the adequacy of services, soil conditions, land use districting, building and development conditions, absence or presence of environmental contamination, or the develop ability of the subject land for any intended use by the buyer.

No bid will be accepted where the bidder attempts to attach conditions precedent to the sale of any parcel. No terms and conditions of sale will be considered other than those specified by The Town of Rocky Mountain House. The Town may, after the public auction, become the owner of any parcel of land not sold at the public auction.

The successful bidder must, at the time of the sale, make a non-refundable ten percent deposit payable to the municipality, with the balance of the purchase price within 30 days of the public auction. Goods and Services Tax (GST) will not apply to the parcels offered for auction
