Drayton Valley RCMP weekly report: Apr. 4-11

April 4

9:31 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complaint of a white Toyota truck speeding through a parking lot. Patrols didn’t locate the truck.

12:12 pm – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported her wallet lost or stolen, unable to locate it for two weeks.

12:55 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Complainant turned in property that a customer had dropped the previous evening, attempting to locate owner.

2:35 pm – Poplar Ridge – 50 Avenue – Complainant reports a red 2005 Pontiac Pursuit, Alberta plate CBN8064, stolen. Likely happened around March 28 but wasn’t noticed.

5:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Anonymous complaint of three or four males loading items into a newer white GMC crew cab from a neighbours residence. Members attended, no one found at location.

9:22 pm – Drayton Valley – Clean Energy Technology Centre – Report of a white Mazda 4 door car with damaged drivers door driving slowly around building. Vehicle was located and persons identified, no offence occurred.

April 5

12:54 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Hotel employee reported a vehicle idling in parking lot for at least an hour, one male occupant. Member attended, male finishing work on his laptop prior to checking in.

3:56 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Member on patrol conducted a street check with a female known to police. Female was detained and a quantity of copper wire was seized, suspected as being stolen. Under investigation.

6:23 am – Brazeau County – Berrymoor area – Member dispatched to area to euthanize a deer hit by a vehicle. Member attended and found the deer already deceased. Second deer reportedly hit wasn’t located.

11:52 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting employee has been using fuel cards on personal vehicles without consent. Matter under investigation.

1:43 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended detachment to report an abandoned Sentry Safe had been found. It had been pried open.

2:57 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting they were driving westbound on Hwy 22 when a black Dodge mini van turned left off of Hwy 620 and collided with the rear drivers side of their enclosed cargo trailer.

4:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Complainant reports an individual cut the fence into the Fortis Albert yard and searched the trailers, outbuildings and scrap metal bins. Another individual entered the yard and left with approximately $100 worth of wire.

5:05 pm – Brazeau County – RR 82 – Complainant reporting a break and enter to residence. Suspect is family member. Members attended and arrested 35- year- old Troy Thesen. Thesen held for a bail hearing.

7:57 pm – Drayton Valley – Econo Rest – Complainant reporting people screaming and yelling. Member attended and was advised that previous tenants of room showed up and complainant wanted them gone. Suspects were gone upon members arrival.

9:28 pm – Drayton Valley – Aspen Motor Inn and DV Good Store – Abandoned 911 call received from pay phone at DV food store. Member attended and spoke to property rep who advised two females had entered the place, one used the pay phone, the other used the washroom. Member patrolled the area with negative results.

April 6

8:11 am – Drayton Valley – 57 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle parked behind property, had been there since 3:00 am. Member attended and located individuals known to police. One female arrested on outstanding warrant from Edmonton.

10:46 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court –Complainant reporting theft of vehicle. Complainant states that they lent their 2015 red Ford Fiesta to a male on Monday April. Vehicle has not yet been returned. Suspect located and arrested.

11:50 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Members called to assist fire department for a structure fire. Members attended, all persons evacuated, fire out upon arrival.

12:41 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant called to report attempted theft and mischief to vehicle. Complainant had been away, when they returned they noted that the ignition had been punched.

1:22 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – 911 hangup from the hospital. Members attended and located a male causing a disturbance. Male was drunk and belligerent wanting a cigarette. Members calmed male down and waited while he smoked a cigarette. Male then went back in and behaved.

3:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 56A street – Complaint received of an unoccupied vehicle had rolled from driveway and collided with a utility trailer which then struck a residence. Members attended.

4:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting that their neighbours had let their dogs out. Members attended and spoke to all parties involved. Suspect denied letting the dogs out.

5:35 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant called to report a female who is driving high and intoxicated. Left the bar 30 minutes ago and heading to Elnora. Members patrolled and sent a BOLO to Rocky Mountain House who picked up female for impaired driving.

6:53 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated driver. A black Toyota Tundra with a quad in the back is driving erratically, speeding, all over the road. Member patrolled area, vehicle not located.

7:24 pm – Brazeau county – RR 71 – Request members attend to assist fire department. Complainant advised that they weren’t feeling well and observed smoke coming from the basement. Fire arrived, deemed to be something faulty with the furnace.

9:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Members requested to assist fire department at structure fire. Members attended, no fire.

11:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Westwood Inn – Complainant reporting a suspicious truck. Stated that a black truck circled the place twice slowly then drove down the road and turned its lights off. Member attended, vehicle was gone upon arrival. Member contacted the registered owner who advised they were picking up a friend at the Best Western.

11:43 pm – Drayton Valley – Mr. Mikes – Complainant reporting an impaired driver in a grey Ford F150. Members were in area at time of complainant and did not observe a vehicle matching the description.

April 7

8:44 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting receiving threats from another party. Matter is under investigation.

9:20 am – Drayton Valley – Westwood Inn – Complainant reporting an abandoned and damaged hotel room. Registered guest left without paying, approximately $516 dollars in damages. Matter is still under investigation.

10:28 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an aggressive driver in a white box style van. Driver is tailgating and turned into Drayton Valley by Boston Pizza – Member called registered owner of vehicle and advised them of the complainant. A warning was given for manner of driving.

11:31 am – Drayton Valley – Pleasant View Trailer Park – Complainant reporting that a vehicle was left parked on their lawn. Vehicle not stolen, and unable to contact the registered owner. Complainant advised they can have the vehicle towed.

1:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Complainant reporting a disturbance. A female who is not to be on the property is there following complainant around, yelling at them.

1:49 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 and Hwy 624 – Complainant reporting a possible impaired driver in a black Ford F150 heading southbound on Hwy 22.

2:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting a male with a big motorcycle is giving rides to people. No helmet. Members patrolled the area and located an unregistered vehicle parked on the street with a motorbike in the back of it. Suspect was later found driving and ticketed for driving an un registered vehicle and for driving while unauthorized.

7:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting known female is in their yard going through the garbage and talking to the bird feeder. Female has been asked to leave, however is being verbally aggressive. Members attended and removed female from property without incident.

8:29 pm – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Requested for members to attend and assist fire department with shed fire. Shed had several dirt bikes, quads and a sled inside at time of fire.

9:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting ex followed them into the residence and pushed them over a chair. Members attended, female arrested for assault.

April 8

1:31 am – Drayton Valley – Country Style Trailer Court – Complainant reporting an intoxicated driver in a dark blue early to mid 2000’s Ford Ranger extended cab. Vehicle has been driving up and down the road blaring the horn then slamming on their brakes before spinning around.

8:46 am – Brazeau County – Members called to an alarm, upon arrival, members noted that a cleaning lady was on site, however, she did not know the code. Alarm false.

9:04 am – Drayton Valley – St. Anthony’s Parish – Complainant reporting theft from vehicle sometime over night. Stolen was a Samsung S7 in a pink case and a Samsung S6 in a red case. Items were stolen from beige 2006 Dodge Caravan. Window had been left slightly open as there was a dog in the vehicle.

9:38 am – Brazeau County – Complainant attended detachment to report an abandoned burnt out vehicle on a lease site. Member attended, vehicle had been stolen previously from Drayton Valley on April 4.

12:04 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting possible impaired driver swerving from shoulder to shoulder into oncoming traffic. Member called registered owner of vehicle who advised that he had rounded a corner and the sun was in their eyes and couldn’t see, when they realized they were on the other side of the road, they corrected themselves.

1:05 pm – Drayton Valley – Dodson Plaza – Complainant reporting a suspicious male bothering people for cigarettes. Members attended, male took off and a short foot pursuit followed. Male was apprehended and given warning not to return.

2:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Aurora School – Complainant reporting a dispute between three parties. One individual stated that a couple was harassing them and calling them names. Members attended, spoke with complainant, suspects had left. Matter is still under investigation.

3:02 pm – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting a male dressed in black arrived at the store in a four door black sedan with a sunroof, parked in the handicap stall and then entered the store and walked towards the hardware aisle where they selected a silver Weiser Power bolt two lock and item under their arm and left without paying through the emergency door in the warehouse. They then took off running towards the highway.

7:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Galaxy Apartments – Members called to a dispute involving male and two females. One female advised they were pushed by the male. Upon arrival, male was gone. He was located shortly after. Tyler Hanna, 30, arrested for assault and held for a bail hearing.

7:47 pm – Drayton Valley – Valley Power – Complainant advises that a guard just arrived and all gates are open and can see wire rolled up. Looks like someone is prepared to take it. Members attended and cleared property.

8:26 pm – Lodgepole – 911 call to report a squatter residing in a property. Require assistance with removing female who is in the residence with two dogs. Members attended, no proof of female being served with eviction notice. Landlord Tenant act.

10:02 pm – Lodgepole – Members called again to a landlord tenant dispute. Landlord was trying to get police to remove tenant, however again, no proof of any eviction notice being provided.

April 9

1:43 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Member was on patrol when complainant approached them to report a break and enter to a rental property. Member attended and noted that it was likely that previous tenants who had been evicted had returned. No one at residence.

12:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant requests members conduct a wellbeing check on a male who hasn’t been heard from in two days. Did not show up for work. Members attended residence. Complainant called back to advise they got a hold of individual all ok.

1:32 pm – Drayton Valley – CETC – Town of Drayton Valley reporting they found two yellow work lights under the deck at the rear of the CETC building where a temporary shelter was created. Items seized.

4:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Complainant reporting a male and female are at the above location and causing a disturbance. Members attended and located two known individuals. Female arrested later on in the evening.

5:29 – Parkland County – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a white Dodge pickup. Vehicle was swerving into oncoming traffic and almost caused people to go off of the road. Vehicle headed towards Evansburg.

5:50 pm – Drayton Valley – Canada Post – Report of female causing a disturbance. Related to previous disturbance call. Female was arrested as she was yelling and screaming in the back alley. Arrested for causing a disturbance.

6:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Members were called to a assault between a male and female. Upon arrival, members separated parties and a 44-year-old male was arrested for assault and held for a bail hearing.

April 10

8:15 am – Tomahawk – Request members attend to a motor vehicle collision in Tomahawk. Members attended and assisted fire department.

9:23 am – Drayton Valley – Swimming Pool – Complainant reporting vandalism to their vehicle. Complainant found a vulgar sticker on the back window of her vehicle. May be related to an on going incident.

10:26 am – Drayton Valley – Ongoing neighbour dispute. Complainant continually calls police to report neighbour is harassing them and their dogs. Complainant is upset as the dogs no longer bark at the neighbours as the neighbours have befriended the dogs.

10:44 am – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting a known male entered the store and walked out with a lock and a package of blades.

10:54 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a burnt out truck at the gravel pit. Vehicle towed.

6:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Commercial alarm going off. Members attended and cleared building. Alarm triggered by workers.

6:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. Member attended, vehicle not stolen, contacted the registered owner.

7:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting a breach of court order. Member attended. Complainant deemed to be unfounded.
