Search continues for Grandview murder suspects

Apr 5, 2019 | 11:31 AM

City Mounties continue to search for two suspects in relation to a homicide in the Grandview neighbourhood a week ago.

Joseph Gallant, 45, from Prince Edward Island was fatally injured last Friday at a home on 40A Avenue. Details on what happened leading up to his death have not been released.

Quentin Lee Strawberry, 37, and Jennifer Lee Caswell, 37, each face charges of second-degree murder and assault causing bodily harm, and remain at-large.

Strawberry has a lengthy history with the court system.

He was arrested in June 2017 following an eight hour standoff with police at an apartment building on 37 Street near Red Deer Regional Hospital. At the time, Strawberry was wanted for charges including armed robbery, assault with a weapon and forcible confinement.

The charges were later stayed, which has been a somewhat common theme for Strawberry with records showing 50 of 73 counts against him since 2013 having been stayed or withdrawn.

Strawberry has served some time behind bars with court records noting a 315-day sentence in 2014 for assault, assault with a weapon and failing to comply with court-ordered conditions. He also received a four-month sentence in Feb. 2017 for assault with a weapon, and a pair of seven-day sentences for other offences in 2015 and 2016.
