Suspects identified in Red Deer homicide

UPDATE (10:30 a.m. – March 31)

RCMP Major Crimes North have laid charges against two people in connection to the death of a man at a home in Grandview on Friday.

Quentin Lee Strawberry and Jennifer Lee Caswell, both 37, are wanted for second degree murder, and assault causing bodily harm. Warrants have been issued for their arrest.

Police have also identified the victim of Friday’s incident as 45-year-old Joseph Junior Alfred Gallant.

Strawberry and Caswell are not to be approached if seen. Strawberry is believed to be armed and dangerous. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

A residence in Red Deer’s Grandview neighbourhood has been the scene of a police investigation ever since RCMP responded to the home early Friday morning.

Alberta RCMP confirmed Friday evening in a release that its Major Crimes Unit is investigating the death of a 45-year-old male.

When police arrived at the home shortly after midnight, the male was located with serious injuries. He was then taken to hospital where he died.

Red Deer detachment and RCMP Forensic Identification Services are also assisting with the investigation.

The home is located on 40A Avenue.
