Drayton Valley RCMP weekly report: Mar. 28 – Apr. 4

March 28

9:35 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Complainant reporting a male walking down a back alley appearing to be disoriented. Member attended and located male who was entering their apartment building. Member checked with male to ensure they were okay. All fine.

11:02 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting theft of garbage bin.

1:05 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant requested member attend to keep the peace while they removed their belongings. Member attended and remained on scene as required.

1:23 pm – Drayton Valley – Drayton Valley Ford – Complainant reporting a person rented an SUV from them in February and still has not returned same. Vehicle reported as stolen. Matter still under investigation.

3:35 pm – Drayton Valley – Drayton Valley Hospital – 911 hangup call received. Occurs on regular basis as patients accidentally dial 911 while trying to dial out to local numbers.

5:51 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended detachment with concerns that an adult male has been speaking inappropriately over Snap Chat and Instagram to their daughter. Matter is still under investigation.

6:30 pm – Brazeau County – Request to conduct a welfare check on son who was staying at another residence while parents are at work. Members attended. Son was angry as he was expected to do some work around the house. No concerns.

9:10 pm – Drayton Valley – Hillcrest Manor parking lot – Complainant reporting that someone was parked in their parking spot. When the complainant approached individual they became belligerent. Members attended and spoke with person who advised they were there to help their brother move. Vehicle was moved from parking spot.

9:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant reporting a dangerous driver. Elderly female driving a silver Jeep into oncoming traffic. Members attended location, however vehicle not located.

9:37 pm – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting male had verbally assaulted them. Members attended, however neither party was at the location.

10:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting two known individuals were there and trying to get into an upstairs residence.

March 29

12:15 am – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant reporting loud music. Member attended and music was turned down.

5:35 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Members were called to a disturbance in the parking lot of Pembina Manor. Upon arrival they located a male and two females. Male and female were fighting over ice cream that was melting all over the vehicle. Both parties told to keep it down.

3:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant called to request police attend and remove male from residence. Members attended, male had left. Complainant did not wish charges.

March 30

3:49 am – Drayton Valley – Fas Gas parking lot – Complainant attended detachment and advised that they were parked at the Fas Gas when a truck pulled up and broke their window. Complainant had some cuts from the glass. Suspect vehicle is a older black Dodge 1500.

4:30 am – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Complainant reporting a vehicle parked in the field across from United Trucking. Lights are on in vehicle. Member attended, no vehicle located.

5:44 am – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. Dark brown Ford F250. Member attended, licence plate expired. Owner called, advised they were in Calgary and vehicle stolen. Vehicle towed.

8:40 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting a suspicious male walking towards the dam on the shoulder wearing a dark toque, dark clothes and a backpack. Male is limping and fell over a couple of times. Members patrolled highway to dam, male not located.

12:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reports an assault. Members requested victim provide a statement regarding the events, however victim declined to do so. Did not wish any charges.

6:57 pm – Drayton Valley – Value Drug Mart – Complainant reporting that the Value Drug Mart is insecure. Members attended and contacted property rep who attended and secured premises.

7:57 pm – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting a suspicious female in the store. Had been there for approximately three hours. Female had left a bag at customer service. Members attended and located female who was asked to move on.

9:59 pm – Parkland County – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. A white Intrepid is parked at the end of their driveway with the lights on facing the residence. Three individuals in the vehicle. Vehicle left shortly after being confronted. Members patrolled the area with negative results.

11:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a white Ford truck with black stripe on the bottom is loading items behind United Safety. Vehicle took off onto the highway, two occupants. Members patrolled the area. Vehicle not located.

March 31

3:57 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting being assaulted by some girls who came to the residence. Members attended and separated all parties.

11:00 am – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Complainant reporting an attempted break and enter to Matrix Solutions. Pane of glass broken. Nothing taken, did not gain access.

6:36 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting a black Dodge pickup is passing on double solid line and tailgating vehicles on the highway. Member contacted the registered owner and left message regarding their manner of driving.

6:50 pm – Drayton Valley – Three Knights parking lot – Members called to a fight between two brothers. An argument became physical. Members attended and spoke to both parties.

10:34 pm – Drayton Valley – Econo Rest – Complainant reporting licence plate was stolen off their 2014 Pontiac Grand Am. Occurred sometime over night.

April 1

12:09 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reporting suspicious activity at the water plant. Member attended, no persons located. Member patrolled Rocky Rapids, people not located.

7:04 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver eastbound on Hwy 39. Vehicle is a grey Jeep. Vehicle was driving in westbound lane. Members patrolled area and forwarded call to Breton RCMP.

8:48 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Complainant reporting attempted entry into vehicle. The lock of the door had been popped out. Nothing taken.

9:30 am – Brazeau County – Complainant calling to report someone has stolen their custom mag rims.

12:44 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a white or silver truck with a trailer in the ditch by the bridge. One male outside. Member attended, male employed by company who owns property.

4:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 42 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious male wearing a black hoodie and dark sunglasses was observed looking into the side window of a silver SUV. Male pulled on the door handle then walked back across the street and got into a pickup and drove away.

4:07 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver. Vehicle described as a small dark car. Vehicle passing other vehicles and going very fast. Members patrolled the area, however did not locate the vehicle.

5:03 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended detachment to report theft of a licence plate.

6:58 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a white Chevrolet pickup truck with blacked out lights threw a bunch of garbage out of their sunroof. Matter still under investigation .

7:50 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting known male has been threatening them. Member attended, male arrested and charged with uttering threats.

8:13 pm – Drayton Valley – Drayton Valley Hotel – Complainant called and requesting members attend to remove intoxicated male refusing to leave. Members attended

11:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 34 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle white/silver, older SUV driving around the Westwood Inn.

April 2

12:50 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a white cavalier almost ran them off the road. Vehicle is swerving all over the road and driving at a high rate of speed. Members patrolled area with negative results.

3:57 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an unwanted female who was at residence throwing and breaking things, yelling and won’t leave.

6:25 am – Drayton Valley – 56 Avenue – Complainant reporting a 1994 dark green Dodge Ram had been stolen.

3:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant called to report an unwanted female at 7-11. Female described as 5’3”, blonde hair, black jacket, blue jeans, black shoes and smoking in no smoking area. Members attended, female gone upon arrival. Patrols made, with negative results.

3:49 pm – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant reporting an abandoned white Chev Cobalt with tinted windows, parked on the road all day. Member attended and vehicle towed. Registered owner advised.

4:54 pm – Drayton Valley – Econo Rest – Complainant reporting someone created a Facebook account under their name and copied their old profile picture. Matter still under investigation.

5:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reports dumpster on fire behind Extra Foods. Members attended along with fire department.

8:34 pm – Violet Grove – Complainant reporting speeding vehicles on 50 Street in Violet Grove, ongoing through the night. Member patrolled area.

8:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Complainant reported receiving death threats from ex via the telephone and text. Member attended and viewed texts. Not deemed to be threats.

April 3

12:16 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Members on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver arrested for impaired driving.

2:06 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted traffic stop. Driver provided member with false name. Driver charged with obstruction and driving with no licence.

4:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Holiday Inn parking lot – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. White truck has been parked there for several years. Members attended and contacted the registered owner.

4:47 pm – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting they have a shoplifter in custody. Members attended, suspect had attempted to steal a box of muffins. Wal Mart wished to have suspect banned from store.

8:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting the neighbor is harassing them. Member attended and spoke with complainant.

10:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting there is black Chevrolet truck dropping garbage out of the back. Member located vehicle, driver did not realize that truck gate was down.

April 4

7:11 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting theft of battery charger.
