Turning Point hosting Drug Trend and Overdose Awareness session in Rocky Mountain House

The Turning Point Society of Central Alberta is continuing its efforts in better educating the public on drug trends and the opioid overdose crisis sweeping North America.

Turning Point is a harm reduction agency that has served central Alberta over the last 30 years and works to reduce transmission of sexually transmitted blood borne infections through the individuals who engage in activities with high risks of transmission.

With that in mind, the organization is hosting a Lunch and Learn Session on Current Drug Trends and Overdose Awareness at the Christensen Sports and Wellness Centre in Rocky Mountain House on October 15.

Turning Point officials say naloxone training and kit distribution will be available with the session being supported by Clearwater County FCSS and the Clearwater Community Police Advisory Committee.
