Two people dead after head-on crash near Claresholm

CLARESHOLM- Two people were killed after two sport-utility vehicles collided head-on near the southern Alberta community of Claresholm.

The RCMP says one of the vehicles was going the wrong way in the northbound lane of the QE 2 when the collision occurred on Monday night.

The drivers were the only people in the S-U-Vs and both died at the scene.

Police say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors.

No names have been released.
